Robbery Liaison

The Robbery Liaison is responsible for receiving the initial contact from law enforcement officers regarding robberies, thereby beginning the thorough, efficient, professional and uniform screening and prosecution of robbery cases in Metro Louisville (Jefferson County). Local law enforcement agencies, especially the Louisville Metro Police Department, cooperate in this effort by notifying the Robbery Liaison when a serious first-degree robbery has occurred or is being investigated. If advice or assistance is needed quickly, then the Robbery Liaison renders it. Many of these robbery cases involve complex schemes, multiple defendants or serial robbers. Ultimately, each case is assigned on a division rotation basis to prosecutors who prepare the case for presentation in court and for trial. The Robbery Liaison and the assigned prosecutors take an active role in the handling of these matters, entering cases from their inception, working hand-in-hand with the police in developing leads, obtaining evidence and taking cases through indictment, court proceedings and trial. This office has had frequent success in its prosecution of these crimes of violence.
