Human Resources Assistant

Description: The Commowealth’s Attorney’s Office has an immediate opening for a full-time Human Resources Assistant. Applicants must be a Kentucky resident.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Human Resource Management preferred. Must have five years of general business experience, Human Resources experience preferred.

The primary functions of this position include:
  • Assist the HR Administrator in the day-to-day administrative operations of the office
  • Assist with employee relations by answering employee requests and questions
  • Administer employee health & life benefits programs
  • Record Time & Attendance and generate monthly transaction reports
  • Purchase all equipment, supplies, office furniture, etc.
  • Process all invoices and travel vouchers for payment and reconcile account ledgers
  • Maintain employee files and the HR filing system
  • Process all facility work orders and track status of orders
  • Candidate must be detail oriented, possess effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy. Must be adaptable to frequent interruptions.

Paralegal

Description: The Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office has an immediate opening for a full-time Paralegal in our Narcotics Unit .

Qualifications: Requirements include a Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal experience in the criminal justice system preferred. National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Certification required (this certification can be obtained through on the job training). Applicants Must be a Kentucky resident.

The primary functions of this position include:

■ Preparing criminal history report on each felony case
■ Obtaining records from other criminal justice agencies
■ Preparing and organizing prosecutors case files
■ Assisting prosecutors with trial preparation

Candidate must be detail oriented, self-motivated and possess the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with efficiency.
