Dinah Koehler - Division Chief, Senior Narcotics Prosecutor, Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney
Ms. Koehler received her license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 2000 and came to the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney in January of 2001. Ms. Koehler received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Iowa State University in 1993 and her Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley School of Law in 2000. Before coming to the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney Ms. Koehler worked as an Associate at the Pepper Law Office from March of 2000 to August of 2000 and as an Associate at Segal & Shanks from August 2000 to January 2001. Ms. Koehler also worked with the Second Judicial District Department of Correctional Services in its Pre-trial Services, as an intern for the Criminal & Juvenile Justice Planning Commission, and as a Youth worker/Counselor at the State Training School for Boys. Ms. Koehler is a professional member of the Kentucky Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Ms. Koehler currently serves as Division Chief of General Trial Division D, and is a Senior Narcotics Prosecutor in charge of Special Narcotics Investigations.
Katherine Kingren - Deputy Division Chief, Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney
Ms. Kingren received her license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 1994, and joined the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office in September 2004. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Philosophy from the University of Louisville in 1990, a Master of Arts Degree in Philosophy from Duke University in 1993, and her Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law in 1993. After her graduation from law school, Ms. Kingren served as an Assistant District Defender in the Jefferson District Public Defender's Office for five years. After engaging in the private practice of law as a sole practitioner for three years, she joined the Cabinet for Families and Children as Assistant General Counsel and served in that capacity in Frankfort until her appointment as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney.
Ms. Kingren is a professional member of the Kentucky Bar Association, and is licensed to practice in Federal Courts in the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky and also in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. She currently serves as Deputy Division Chief of General Trial Division D and also serves as one of two CAO Mentoring Managers.
Cristal Fox - Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney
Ms. Fox is a recent graduate of the University of Louisville Law School, and she also received her BA from U of L in Justice Administration in 2003. Prior to joining the Commonwealth's Attorneys Office in 2007, she externed with Dorislee Gilbert here last Spring, and interned with the VA’s here in 2003. In addition, Cristal clerked for Clay, Kenealy, Wagner & Adams; and, she worked as a deputy circuit court clerk in the Family Court and Mental Inquest Divisions. While a Sergeant in the US Army Reserve for 6 years, she served in Bosnia where she was an ammunition specialist responsible for the combat load for 24 Apache helicopters. Ms. Fox is a professional member of the Kentucky Bar Association and is currently assigned to General Trial Division D.
Mr. Coffey received his license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 2007 and joined the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney in October of that year. After graduating from Notre Dame Law School with a Juris Doctor in 2006, he was admitted to the practice of law in Pennsylvania. Mr. Coffey received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy from Providence (RI) College in 1995 and his Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School in 2000. He graduated Magna cum Laude from Providence and was a member of both the Economics Honors Society and the Philosophy Honors Society. Prior to joining the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, he worked as an Assistant District Attorney for the Montgomery County (PA) District Attorney from 2006 to 2007. After graduating from college, he served for a year in the Jesuit Volunteer Corp in Hartford CT where he served as a legal advocate for people living with HIV/AIDS. Mr. Coffey has also worked as a Legislative Assistant for United States Senator Charles E. Shumer, as a Senior Correspondence Assistant for United States Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan and as a Policy Analyst for the Brain Injury Association of America. He is a professional member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the Louisville Bar Association and is currently assigned to General Trial Division D.
Jennifer Stosberg- Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney
Ms. Stosberg received her license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 1998 and joined the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney in July, 2008. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Bellarmine University in 1995, her Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky in 1998, and her LL.M. (Master of Arts in Law) Degree in Taxation in 1999, from the University of Florida Graduate Tax Program. Since then, she has worked as an Associate Attorney for several area private law firms. Most recently Ms. Stosberg served as a Staff Attorney in Jefferson Circuit Court from 2004-2008. During that time, she worked for Circuit Judge Ann O'Malley Shake and for Circuit Judge Mitch Perry. She serves as a volunteer for Ford Ironman Louisville. Ms. Stosberg is a professional member of the Kentucky Bar Association and is assigned to General Trial Division D.
John Balenovich - Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney
Mr. Balenovich received his license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 2005 and joined the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office in October 2008. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy/Sociology/Psychology from Bellarmine University in 2001, his M.S. Degree in Justice Administration from the University of Louisville in 2006, and his J.D. Degree from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law in 2005. In his last year of law school, Mr. Balenovich participated in a Criminal Justice externship in this office. For the last three years, he has been engaged in the private practice of civil law locally and throughout most of West Virginia, including extensive litigation experience. He has published extensively, including an article in a recent Kentucky Bench and Bar magazine. In the past, Mr. Balenovich served as a Law Clerk for Ricketts and Travis and for the Appalachian Research and Development Fund. He is also a trained mediator. Mr. Balenovich is a professional member of the Kentucky Bar Association, and he is currently assigned to General Trial Division D.
Jeremy Reed - Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney
Mr. Reed received his license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 2007 and joined the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office in 2009. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Kentucky in 2003 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky School of law in 2007. In the past he has served as an intern in the Domestic Violence Division of Fayette District Court and for Chief Judge Joseph Hood of U.S. District Court (Eastern District of Kentucky) in Lexington. After becoming an attorney, he worked in private practice in Paducah and at Krauser and Brown in Louisville. Mr. Reed is a professional member of the Louisville Bar Association and the Kentucky Bar Association. He is currently assigned to General Trial Division D.
