General Trial Division B

Tom Van De Rostyne - Division Chief, Homicide Liaison, Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney

Mr. Van De Rostyne received his license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 2000 and came to the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney in January of 2001. Mr. Van De Rostyne received a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from the University of Oklahoma in 1988. He then went on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Equine Administration from the University of Louisville in 1997. Mr. Van De Rostyne then received his Juris Doctor from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 2000. Before coming to the Commonwealth, Mr. Van De Rostyne worked as a law clerk and Associate Attorney for the City of Louisville, Department of Law from 1998 to 2001. Mr. Van De Rostyne also served as a cartographer for the Defense Mapping Agency from 1988 to 1994 and as a racing intern for Churchill Downs Racing Department from 1995 to 1997. Mr. Van De Rostyne is an active member in the Young Lawyers Section of the Louisville Bar Association. While attending the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville, Mr. Van De Rostyne served as Vice President of the Student Bar Association and was on the Dean's List from 1998 to 2000. Mr. Van De Rostyne is a professional member of the Kentucky Bar Association and Louisville Bar Association. He currently serves as the Homicide Liaison and is in charge of the Capital Case Unit. Mr. VanDeRostyle is Division Chief of General Trial Division B.

Mark Baker - Deputy Division Chief, Senior Prosecutor, Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney

Mr. Baker received his license to practice law in 1994, and he joined the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney in August, 2004. He graduated from the University of Louisville School of Law in 1994 after receiving his BS in Business from UK. After 5 years of a varied private practice in Central City, KY, he served as an Assistant Public Advocate in the Capital Trial Unit of the Department for Public Advocacy for five years. In that position, Mr. Baker tried 19 jury trials to verdict, including 4 capital cases. He is a professional member of the Louisville Bar Association and the Kentucky Bar Association. Mr. Baker is one of the office experts on asset forfeiture matters, assists in assigning robbery cases, and currently serves as Deputy Division Chief for General Trial Division B.

Felicia Nu'Man - Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney

Ms. Nu'Man is a 2000 graduate of Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia . She received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies: Science, Technology and Society from the University of Louisville in 1996. She worked as an Intern for the DeKalb County Public Defender's Office where she practiced under the Third Year Practice Act of Georgia. Felicia worked in the area of employment discrimination at a private firm here in Louisville before joining the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office in July, 2005. She is a professional member of the Louisville Bar Association and the Kentucky Bar Association.  She is currently assigned to General Trial Division B.

Nick Neumann - Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney

Mr. Neumann received his license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 2006. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science at the University of Wisconsin in 2000, and graduated from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 2006. He served for two and a half years as a Law Clerk in the Narcotics Unit of the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, eventually becoming Senior Law Clerk. Mr. Neumann attended law school on an Alumni Scholarship and was Treasurer of the Student Bar Association. He is a professional member of the Kentucky Bar Association, and is currently assigned to General Trial Division B.

Angela Johnson - Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney

Ms. Johnson received her license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 2005, and joined the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney in April 2007. She received her Bachelor of Arts in both English and Political Science from the University of Kentucky in 2001, and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2004. A graduate of the Law Magnet Program at Louisville's Central High School, Ms. Johnson served in the past as a Law Clerk for Judge William E. McAnulty, Jr., of the Court of Appeals. While in law school, she was a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) Competition Team. She also had a prior internship with the Fayette Commonwealth's Attorney's Office. Ms. Johnson worked as an Assistant Public Advocate in the Appeals Branch of the Department of Public Advocacy from 2005 to 2007. She is a professional member of the Kentucky Bar Association and is currently assigned toGeneral Trial Division B.

Thomas Coffey - Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney

Mr. Coffey received his license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 2007 and joined the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney in October of that year. After graduating from Notre Dame Law School with a Juris Doctor in 2006, he was admitted to the practice of law in Pennsylvania. Mr. Coffey received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy from Providence (RI) College in 1995 and his Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School in 2000. He graduated Magna cum Laude from Providence and was a member of both the Economics Honors Society and the Philosophy Honors Society. Prior to joining the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, he worked as an Assistant District Attorney for the Montgomery County (PA) District Attorney from 2006 to 2007. After graduating from college, he served for a year in the Jesuit Volunteer Corp in Hartford CT where he served as a legal advocate for people living with HIV/AIDS. Mr. Coffey has also worked as a Legislative Assistant for Senator Charles E. Shumer, as a Senior Correspondence Assistant for Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan and as a Policy Analyst for the Brain Injury Association. He is a professional member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the Louisville Bar Association and is currently assigned to General Trial Division B.

Logan Sims - Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney

Mr. Sims received his B.A. summa cum laude in Philosophy from the University of San Francisco in 2004, and his J.D. from the University of Louisville School of Law in 2008. He was officially admitted to the Kentucky Bar in 2009 and joined the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office in February of that year. During law school, Mr. Sims received numerous awards and honors, and was a summer Associate for Sales, Tillman, Catlett, Wallbaum, and Satterly in 2006, and a summer Associate for Greenebaum, Doll, and McDonald in 2007. He has traveled extensively and recently completed a Spanish immersion school experience in South America. He is a professional member of the Kentucky Bar Association. Mr. Sims is currently assigned to General Trial Division B.
