General Trial Division A

Kristi Gray - Division Chief, Sexual Assault Liaison, Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney

Ms. Gray received her license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 1994, and joined the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office in June of 2004. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Ohio State University in 1991, and her Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School in 1994. From 1994 until 2004, she served as a Staff Attorney and Directing Attorney for the Department of Public Advocacy in Pikeville and Paintesville. In the past, she has served as a Red Cross Board Member and volunteer, and a member of the Women's Club, Johnson County Bar Association, and Floyd County Domestic Violence Council. She is also admitted to the practice of law in Ohio . Ms. Gray served as a member of the Supreme Court of Kentucky Evidence Rules Review Commission from 2000-2004. She is a professional member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the Louisville Bar Association. Ms. Gray currently serves as the Victim Advocate Co-ordinator, the Sexual Assault Liaison for the office and is the Division Chief of General Trial Division A.

Erin White - Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney

Ms. White received her license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 2005, and became an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in October 2005. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree Summa Cum Laude with Honors in Psychology from St. Louis University in 1997, and her law degree from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 2005. While in law school, she was the recipient of the Josephine Fischer Scholarship for three years, was the recipient Robert W. Zollinger Memorial Award in 2005, and also received the Clark, Boardman, and Callahan Best Brief Award.

In her past positions, Ms. White was a Crisis Counselor for Seven Counties Services for two years, and she attained the rank of Senior Social Worker for Louisville Metro Human Services where she was employed for almost three years. Prior to becoming an ACA, she served the Commonwealth's Attorney as a Law Clerk and Senior Law Clerk for two years. Ms. White is currently serving on the Emerging Leaders Board of the League of Women Voters, and she has served as a member of the LBA-Legal Aid Pro Bono Consortium. She is also a Pupil member of the Inns of Court, 2004-2005. Ms. White is a professional member of the Louisville Bar Association, Kentucky Bar Association, and American Bar Association, in addition to the Women Lawyers' Association of Jefferson County. She is the Deputy Division Chief of General Trial Division A.

Chris Hutchison - FAST Team Chief, Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney

Mr. Hutchison received his license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky in 1994 and came to the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney in August, 2000. Mr. Hutchison received his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Miami in 1991 and his Juris Doctor from the Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 1994. Before coming to the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney Mr. Hutchison worked as an Associate at Owen, Harvey & Carter from 1994 to 1995; an Associate at B.R. Salyer Law Offices from 1995 to 1996; as General Counsel to Commercial Counselors International from 1996 to 1997; and as an Assistant County Prosecutor in the Fayette County Attorney's Office from 1997 to 2000. Mr. Hutchison is a professional Member of the Louisville Bar Association and the Kentucky Bar Association. Mr. Hutchison is Division Chief of The F.A.S.T. Team which is responsible for the prosecution of individuals involved in motor vehicle collisions in which someone has been killed, injured or endangered. He is currently assigned to General Trial Division A.

Elizabeth Jones Brown - Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney

Ms. Brown received her law degree from Georgetown University (DC) Law Center in 2002. A member of the Kentucky Bar since 2007, she is also licensed as a member of the bar in the state of Virginia and in the District of Columbia. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Anthropology from Centre College in 1996, and a Master of Arts Degree in International Relations from the University of Kentucky in 1998. In the past, she worked as a Law Clerk for a Judge in the DC Superior Court, and she served as Assistant General Counsel to the Federal Bureau Investigation (FBI) from 2004 to 2007. Ms. Brown is a professional member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the Louisville Bar Association and is currently assigned to General Trial Division A.

Leland Hulbert- Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney

Mr. Hulbert received his license to practice law in Kentucky in 2002, and joined the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office in 2007. He is a 2001 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Law, and he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Miami (Ohio) University with a double major of Political Science and Sociology and a minor in Criminology. He was an Assistant Jefferson County Attorney from 2002 to 2007, serving as a Prosecutor in Felony/Misdemeanor Court and as Chief Jury Trial Prosecutor in Warrant Court. Also in the past, he served as a Law Clerk for the Jefferson County Attorney's Office and for the old City Law Department. Mr. Hulbert's past experiences also include being an Office Manager for 5/3 Bank in Cincinnati, Ohio. He currently coaches 8th Grade Boys Basketball for the Catholic School Athletic Association, and in the past has been in the Jefferson County Public School Mentor Program and has participated as a Judge in the Bellarmine Mock Trial Program. Mr. Hulbert is a graduate of the 2008 LBA Leadership Academy and is an LBA Leadership Fellow. Mr. Hulbert is a professional member of the Kentucky Bar Association and The Louisville Bar Association. In addition, he serves as one of two CAO Mentoring Managers. He is currently assigned to General Trial Division A.

Josh Schneider - Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney

Mr. Schneider received his license to practice law in Kentucky in 2009 and joined the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office in that same year. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law (2008), having received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Northland College in 1998 and his Master's Degree in Education from the University of Vermont in 2000. From 1998 to 2005, he taught and traveled in the Czech Republic, Alaska, Chili, and New Zealand. While in law school, Mr. Schneider achieved the highest grade in his Trial Advocacy course. In the past, he has worked as a law clerk at the Tom Conway Law Office and as an Extern in the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office. He currently coaches 8th grade basketball for the Catholic School Athletic Association and is a member of the KBA Young Lawyers Section. Mr. Schneider is a professional member of the Kentucky Bar Association and is currently assigned to General Trial Division A.

Matt Conway - Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney

Mr. Conway has been licensed to practice law in Kentucky since 2004, and he joined the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office in 2009. He received his law Degree from the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law (2003) and his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Emory University in 1998. Mr. Conway began his prosecutorial career in 2005 as an Assistant Jefferson County Attorney, a position that he held for three years. In other legal positions, he was a partner for Conway and Conway and Legal Counsel for Heritage Title Services. He served as a Law Clerk for the Haddad Law Office while in law school, and as a Case Clerk for Alston and Bird in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Conway was also employed as a System Analyst for Enterprise Development Systems, Inc., in Atlanta. He is a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels and volunteers at the Kentucky Humane Society. Mr. Conway is a professional member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Louisville Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is currently assigned to General Trial Division A.

Ryan Olberding - Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney

Mr. Olberding graduation from the University of Main School of Law in 2003, after having received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University in 2000. He was admitted to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Bar in 2003 and to the Kentucky Bar in 2009, when he began his service as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney. While in Law School, Mr. Olberding served as an intern in the District Attorney's Office in Portland, Maine. While at the University of Maine, he was Phi Beta Kappa, National Liberal Arts Honor Society; Omicron Delta Epsilon, National Economics Honor Society; and, Beta Gamma Sigma, National Business Honor Society. Upon joining the U.S. Army, he received advanced legal training at the Judge Advocate General's Legal Center and School Officer Basic Course. Mr. Olberding became a Captain in the U. S. Army JAG Corps, serving as Brigade Advocate and Chief of Military Justice at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and as Trial Counsel/Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, Claims Attorney/Assistant Hospital Legal Advisor while at Fort Polk, Louisiana. He currently volunteers as a Big Brother for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Kentuckiana. Mr. Olberding is a professional member of the Kentucky Bar Association and is currently assigned to General Trial Division A.
