Each year thousands of dollars in collected restitution – money paid by criminals to reimburse their victims – is turned over to the State Treasurer’s Office by the Jefferson Circuit Court Clerk Central Accounting Department because victims of a crime relocate and fail to provide a forwarding address.
The Jefferson Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, in conjunction with the Jefferson Circuit Court Clerks Office, will assist victims of crime in making a claim for unclaimed restitution held by the Jefferson Circuit Court Clerk Central Accounting Department. This online search is strictly for Jefferson Circuit criminal cases that have already been prosecuted and finally resolved in court.
In order to claim this money, you must first submit an inquiry form. Upon receipt and review of the information you will be contacted by Central Accounting and then be required to appear personally with proper identification, such as a photo ID.
You may search for your name below. If you see a familiar name and you have reason to believe it may be you or the person for whom you are looking, submit an inquiry form and we will investigate on your behalf. Please provide as much information as possible on the inquiry form. Former addresses and accurate Social Security numbers are the most important information to provide when you are contacted in the future.
