ARRAIGNMENT

 

  1. Bryan Scott Lee – 09CR3089.  (Manslaughter 2nd Degree [2 Counts])  Mr. Lee (DOB 7/14/79) is charged in connection with the August 22, 2009 crash on Fern Valley Road which resulted in the deaths of Toya Buckner-Dioum and Sherman King.  Arraignment is scheduled for Monday, October 26, Division 1, at 8:30 A.M.  Kristi Gray is the prosecutor.

 

 

HEARING

 

  1. Martell D. Bennett – 09CR1749.  (Murder, Attempted Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Bennett (DOB 1/1/83) is charged in connection with the December 6, 2007 shooting death of James Wilson.  A Hearing is scheduled for Monday, October 26, Division 5, at 10:30 A.M.  Nick Neumann is the prosecutor.

 

 

PRE - TRIAL CONFERENCE

 

1.      Edward E. White – 09CR1626.  (Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Persistant Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. White (DOB 9/16/84) is charged in connection with the May 16, 2009 shooting death of Ramone Shirley in a parking lot in the Iroquois Homes housing complex.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, October 26, Division 12, at 9:00 A.M.  Evan Spalding is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Brenton T. Smith – 09CR2545.  (Murder, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Intoxicants)  Mr. Smith (DOB 5/25/90) is charged in connection with the August 23, 2009 crash on northbound I-65 which resulted in the death of Jason Smith.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, Division 9, at 9:15 A.M.  Frank Dahl is the prosecutor.

 

3.      Nereida Allen (DOB 4/4/86) / Joshua Peacher (DOB 1/10/85) – 08CR2598.  (Murder, Assault 1st Degree, Criminal Abuse 1st Degree [2 Counts], Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Illegal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia)  The defendants are charged in connection with the August 28, 2008 death of 2 year old Christopher James Allen.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, Division 9, at 9:30 A.M.  Jonathan Heck is the prosecutor.

 

4.      Amy Arden (DOB 3/1/87) / Thomas Wayne Mercurio (DOB 9/9/83) – 08CR3810.  (Murder, Arson 1st Degree, Robbery 1st Degree, Receiving Stolen Property >$300, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  The defendants are charged in connection with the December 19, 2008 death of Larry Seigle whose body was found near a fire in a home in the 700 block of M Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, Division 8, at 8:30 A.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.

 

5.      Mitchell K. Westlin – 09CR2191.  (Murder, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree)  Mr. Westlin (DOB 11/4/77) is charged in connection with the December 4, 2008 crash on I-265 which resulted in the death of Max McLeod.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, Division 8, at 9:30 A.M.  Chris Hutchison is the prosecutor.

 

6.      Crystal Lee Gordon (DOB 12/15/79) / Reginald Grider (DOB 10/23/91) / Damon Phelps (DOB 10/9/92)– 08CR2816 & 08CR3131.  (ALL: Murder, Robbery 1st Degree; GORDON: Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree; GRIDER: Possession of a Handgun by a Minor)  The defendants are charged in connection with the September 12, 2008 shooting death of Cesario Gomez at the Yorktown Apartments in the 7400 block of Garrison Road.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, Division 12, at 10:00 A.M.  Leland Hulbert and Michelle Rudovich are the prosecutors.

 

7.      Quitten O. McCawley – 09CR1769.  (Murder, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree [5 Counts])  Mr. McCawley (DOB 2/12/90) is charged in connection with the June 12, 2009 shooting death of William Butler at a residence in the 10100 block of Nanka Road.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, Division 4, at 9:30 A.M.  Cristal Fox is the prosecutor.

 

 

TRIAL

 

1.      Kenneth L. Roberson – 07CR2092.  (Murder, Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Roberson (DOB 6/26/61) is charged in connection with the June 8, 2007 death of Keith Mario Reed, Jr. at 24th and Madison streets.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, Division 7, at 9:30 A.M.  Stacy Greive is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Anthony J. Gibbs (DOB 4/19/84) / Joshua E. Godfrey (DOB 8/6/88) – 08CR2076.  (Murder, Assault 1st Degree, Robbery 1st Degree [2 Counts], Tampering with Physical Evidence)  The defendants are charged in connection with the July 2, 2008 altercation which led to the death of Martess Bethel at an apartment on Reeser Place.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, Division 4, at 10:00 A.M.  Erin White is the prosecutor.

 

3.      Trey Devone Skaggs – 09CR0957.  (Murder, Attempted Murder, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police, Possession of a Defaced Firearm, Resisting Arrest)  Mr. Skaggs (DOB 3/4/91) is charged in connection with the March 22, 2009 shooting death of Jose Morales Zarabia at a Speedway gas station in the 7400 block of Third Street Road.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, Division 11, at 10:00 A.M.  Lisa Cartier Giroux is the prosecutor.

 

 

SENTENCING

 

1.      Marcus Deshon Fresh – 07CR0577.  Mr. Fresh (DOB 9/6/84) was found guilty of Murder and Retaliating Against a Participant in the Legal Process in connection with the February 1, 2007 shooting death of Edrisha Reed on Tuscarora Way in the Iroquois Homes housing complex.  Sentencing is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, Division 4, at 8:45 A.M.  Christie Foster is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Henry A. Booker, Jr. – 08CR0121.  Mr. Booker (DOB 8/29/70) pleaded guilty to Murder, Arson 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree, Abuse of Corpse, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree in connection with the January 2, 2008 death of James Happel whose body was found in a burning home in the 600 block of Iowa Avenue.  Sentencing is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, Division 12, at 10:00 A.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.
