ARRAIGNMENT

 

  1. Samuel Marra – 09CR3011.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Kidnapping, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Marra (DOB 5/19/93) is charged in connection with the July 22, 2009 stabbing death of Joshua Pendleton at JJ’s Smoke Shop in the 10600 block of Dixie Highway.  Arraignment is scheduled for Monday, October 19, Division 4, at 10:00 A.M.  Jason Butler is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Percy Alan Philips – 09CR3016.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree)  Mr. Philips (DOB 8/1/64) is charged in connection with the September 28, 1993 shooting death of Brenda Whitfield at a Chevron Station in the 3300 block of Newburg Road.  Arraignment is scheduled for Monday, October 19, Division 1, at 8:30 A.M.  Mark Baker is the prosecutor.

 

 

HEARING

 

  1. Cecil Eugene New II – 07CR3969.  (Murder, Kidnapping, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 3rd Degree, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. New (DOB 12/25/60) is charged in connection with the death of Cesar Ivan Aguilar Cano whose body was found July 7, 2007 near Fourth Street and Central Avenue  A Hearing is scheduled for Monday, October 19, Division 9, at 11:00 A.M.  Jonathan Heck and Erin White are the prosecutors.

 

  1. Robert H. Thomas – 09CR1539.  (Murder, Attempted Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Thomas (DOB 12/15/49) is charged in connection with the May 19, 2009 stabbing death of Rosemary Stinson in an alley in the 1800 block of Duncan Street.  A Suppression Hearing is scheduled for Friday, October 23, Division 3, at 10:30 A.M.  Ryane Conroy is the prosecutor.

 

 

PRE - TRIAL CONFERENCE

 

1.      Kenyon M. Pollock – 07CR3666.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Pollock (DOB 5/8/72) is charged in connection with the November 2, 2007 shooting death of Depietro Bell, who was found near the intersection of Ellison and Julia avenues.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, October 19, Division 9, at 10:45 A.M.  Jason Butler is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Said Ali Biyad – 06CR3272.  (Murder [4 Counts], Criminal Attempted Murder, Rape 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence [3 Counts])  Mr. Biyad (DOB 1/1/64) is charged in connection with the October 6, 2006 stabbing deaths of his 4 children – Goshany, Khadija, Fatuma and Sidi Ali, ages 2 to 8 – at an apartment in Iroquois Homes.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, October 19, Division 2, at 1:30 P.M.  Christie Foster is the prosecutor.

 

3.      Alfred Frank Sears – 09CR1074.  (Murder, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Sears (DOB 12/29/83) is charged in connection with the March 5, 2009 shooting death of Vaughn Tipton near a house in the 500 block of East Ormsby Ave.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, Division 6, at 9:00 A.M.  Felicia Nu’Man is the prosecutor.

 

4.      Susan Kay Lukjan – 09CR0440.  (Arson 2nd Degree, Burning Personal Property to Defraud Insurer, Fraudulent Insurance Acts >$300)  Ms. Lukjan (DOB 8/7/63) is charged in connection with the August 16, 2006 fire at Campbell’s Gourmet Cottage then located at 127 N. Sherrin Ave.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, Division 7, at 9:00 A.M.  Leland Hulbert is the prosecutor.

 

5.      Mark L. Sheckles (DOB 12/17/88) / Cornell D. Gist (DOB 7/17/90) – 09CR2555.  (SHECKLES: Murder, Wanton Endangerment [3 Counts], Receiving a Stolen Firearm; BOTH: Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Defaced Firearm)  The defendants are charged in connection with the August 23, 2009 shooting death of Eric McGee in a parking lot in the 4700 block of Preston Highway.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, Division 13, at 9:30 A.M.  Mark Baker is the prosecutor.

 

6.      Tyson T. Mimms – 09CR2049.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Mimms (DOB 11/18/87) is charged in connection with the March 3, 2009 shooting death of Alfred D. Smith near 32nd and Kentucky streets in the Parkland neighborhood.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, Division 1, at 10:30 A.M.  Ryane Conroy is the prosecutor.

 

7.      Keithen Lamont Gaines (DOB 9/28/77) / Kevin Dewayne Gaines (9/28/77) – 08CR2702 & 08CR3445.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence; KEITHEN  Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon)  The defendants are charged in connection with the September 7, 2008 shooting death of Moshawn White in the 700 block of South 24th Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, October 22, Division 8, at 8:30 A.M.  Frank Dahl is the prosecutor.

 

8.      Gail Lynn Coontz – 08CR1574.  (Murder [2 Counts], Tampering with Physical Evidence, Terroristic Threatening, Unlawful Imprisonment 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree)  Ms. Coontz (DOB 7/8/70) is charged in connection with the March 27, 2008 shooting death of her two children, Greg and Nikki, whose bodies were found in her home on Settle Boulevard in Okolona.  She is also charged in connection with an incident at the University of Louisville health services counseling center.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, October 23, Division 5, at 9:00 A.M.  Dorislee Gilbert is the prosecutor.

 

 

TRIAL

 

1.      Frankie Lee Roberson – 09CR0959.  (Murder)  Mr. Roberson (DOB 10/13/67) is charged in connection with the March 17, 2009 beating death of McOwen Drane.  Mr. Drane died from his injuries at University Hospital.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, Division 6, at 9:30 A.M.  Kristi Gray is the prosecutor.

 

 

SENTENCING

 

1.      Martin Phillip Jackson – 07CR1666.  Mr. Jackson (DOB 5/17/66) was found guilty of Kidnapping, Assault 2nd Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police, Operating a Taxi Without a Valid License and Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree in connection with the May 5, 2007 abduction and beating of a female victim.  Sentencing is scheduled for Thursday, October 22, Division 1, at 10:00 A.M.  Ryane Conroy is the prosecutors.
