ARRAIGNMENT

 

  1. Mark L. Sheckles (DOB 12/17/88) / Cornell D. Gist (DOB 7/17/90) – 09CR2555.  (SHECKLES: Murder, Wanton Endangerment [3 Counts], Receiving a Stolen Firearm; BOTH: Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Possession of a Defaced Firearm)  The defendants are charged in connection with the August 23, 2009 shooting death of Eric McGee in a parking lot in the 4700 block of Preston Highway.  Arraignment has already occurred.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, Division 13, at 9:30 A.M.  Mark Baker is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Brenton T. Smith – 09CR2545.  (Murder, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Intoxicants)  Mr. Smith (DOB 5/25/90) is charged in connection with the August 23, 2009 crash on northbound I-65 which resulted in the death of Jason Smith.  Arraignment has already occurred.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, October 5, Division 9, at 10:15 A.M.  Frank Dahl is the prosecutor.

 

 

PRE - TRIAL CONFERENCE

 

1.      Tyson T. Mimms – 09CR2049.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Mimms (DOB 11/18/87) is charged in connection with the March 3, 2009 shooting death of Alfred D. Smith near 32nd and Kentucky streets in the Parkland neighborhood.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, Division 1, at 10:00 A.M.  Logan Sims is the prosecutor.

 

2.      James Edward Stover – 09CR1102.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Trafficking in Marijuana, Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree)  Mr. Stover (DOB 4/2/84) is charged in connection with the April 3, 2009 shooting death of Camden McCroskey in the parking lot of Outer Loop Plaza.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, September 10, Division 13, at 9:15 A.M.  Nick Neumann is the prosecutor.

 

3.      Kenyon M. Pollock – 07CR3666.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Pollock (DOB 5/8/72) is charged in connection with the November 2, 2007 shooting death of Depietro Bell, who was found near the intersection of Ellison and Julia avenues.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, September 10, Division 9, at 10:00 A.M.  Jason Butler is the prosecutor.

 

4.      Juan Valesco Tolentino – 09CR1427.  (Murder)  Mr. Tolentino (DOB 9/7/64) is charged in connection with the April 23, 2009 beating death of Jamie Jackson in the 2500 block of Owen St.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, September 11, Division 7, at 8:45 A.M.  John Balliet is the prosecutor.

 

 

TRIAL

 

1.      Jameco Jerome English – 08CR2756.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree)  Mr. English (DOB 2/21/83) is charged in connection with the August 26, 2008 shooting death of Jodel Lee Cousins whose body was found on 34th Street near Garland Avenue.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, Division 13, at 8:30 A.M.  Chris Hutchison is the prosecutor.

 

 

SENTENCING

 

1.      James L. Gore, Jr. – 08CR2236.  Mr. Gore (DOB 9/1/90) pleaded guilty to Manslaughter 2nd Degree,  Tampering with Physical Evidence and Possession of a Handgun by a Minor in connection with the May 6, 2008 shooting death of Delshawn Banks at 31st and Young streets.  Sentencing is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, Division 2, at 9:00 A.M.  Lisa Cartier Giroux is the prosecutor.
