ARRAIGNMENT

 

  1. Tyson T. Mimms – 09CR2049.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Mimms (DOB 11/18/87) is charged in connection with the March 3, 2009 shooting death of Alfred D. Smith near 32nd and Kentucky streets in the Parkland neighborhood.  Arraignment is scheduled for Monday, July 20, Division 1, at 8:30 A.M.  Logan Sims is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Kalveron D. Jones – 09CR2054.  (Murder)  Mr. Jones (DOB 6/9/90) is charged in connection with the September 24, 2007 death of Mark Smith.  Mr. Smith was a pedestrian struck by a car near 22nd Street and Standard Avenue.  Arraignment is scheduled for Monday, July 20, Division 4, at 10:00 A.M.  Chris Hutchison is the prosecutor.

 

 

PRE - TRIAL CONFERENCE

 

1.      John M. Davis, Jr. – 08CR2455.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Davis (DOB 8/3/69) is charged in connection with the August 10, 2008 shooting death of Eddie Robinson at a car wash near the intersection of Stonestreet and 3rd Street roads.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, July 20, Division 6, at 1:00 P.M.  Mark Baker is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Juan Valesco Tolentino – 09CR1427.  (Murder)  Mr. Tolentino (DOB 9/7/64) is charged in connection with the April 23, 2009 beating death of Jamie Jackson in the 2500 block of Owen St.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, July 21, Division 7, at 8:45 A.M.  John Balliet is the prosecutor.

 

3.      Joseph Allen Starcher – 09CR1214.  (Criminal Attempted Murder, Assault 1st Degree [3 Counts], Disarming a Peace Officer, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree [2 Counts], Resisting Arrest, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance)  Mr. Starcher (DOB 9/8/84) is charged in connection with an April 8, 2009 incident at a home off Old Sheperdsville Road which resulted in the wounding of a Metro Police officer.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, Division 7, at 9:00 A.M.  Christie Foster is the prosecutor.

 

4.      Herbert Eugene Lee, III – 09CR1095.  (Murder [4 Counts], Receiving Stolen Property >$300, Fleeing or Evading Police, Operating a Motor Vehicle without an Operator’s License, Reckless Driving)  Mr. Lee (DOB 4/2/92) is charged in connection with the December 18, 2008 crash at First and Hill streets which resulted in the death of Aaron Shields and brothers Jemar, Demar and Marc Claybrooks.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, July 22, Division 3, at 9:15 A.M.  Michelle Rudovich is the prosecutor.

 

5.      Alfred Frank Sears – 09CR1074.  (Murder, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Sears (DOB 12/29/83) is charged in connection with the March 5, 2009 shooting death of Vaughn Tipton near a house in the 500 block of East Ormsby Ave.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, July 23, Division 6, at 9:30 A.M.  Felicia Nu’Man is the prosecutor.

 

6.      Keithen Lamont Gaines (DOB 9/28/77) / Kevin Dewayne Gaines (9/28/77) – 08CR2702 & 08CR3445.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence; KEITHEN  Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon)  The defendants are charged in connection with the September 7, 2008 shooting death of Moshawn White in the 700 block of South 24th Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, July 23, Division 8, at 9:30 A.M.  Frank Dahl is the prosecutor.

 

7.      Kenneth Lee Malone – 08CR3680.  (Murder, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Malone (DOB 8/7/81) is charged in connection with the November 22, 2008 shooting death of Montez Stewart in the 2100 block of Bolling Avenue.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, July 23, Division 6, at 9:45 A.M.  Frank Dahl is the prosecutor.

 

8.      Delion Keyona Burks – 09CR0792.  (Assault 1st Degree [4 Counts], Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Burks (DOB 6/4/81) is charged in connection with the March 9, 2009 shooting at Jim Porters Night Club resulting in the injury of 4 people.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, July 23, Division 8, at 10:15 A.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.

 

9.      Quitten O. McCawley – 09CR1769.  (Murder, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree [5 Counts])  Mr. McCawley (DOB 2/12/90) is charged in connection with the June 12, 2009 shooting death of William Butler at a residence in the 10100 block of Nanka Road.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, July 24, Division 4, at 9:00 A.M.  Cristal Fox is the prosecutor.

 

10.  Kenielle D. Finch – 08CR2333.  (Murder [2 Counts], Assault 1st Degree, Assault 3rd Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police [2 Counts], Tampering with Physical Evidence, Failure to Stop and Render Aid, Reckless Driving, Disregarding Official Traffic Control Device [2 Counts], No Motor Vehicle Insurance, Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree)  Mr. Finch (DOB 5/3/82) is charged in connection with the July 25, 2008 deaths of Claudia Faye Wadlington and Riley Jane Lawrence.  The incident occurred on Floyd Street near the University of Louisville campus.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, July 24, Division 13, at 9:00 A.M.  Ryane Conroy and Frank Dahl are the prosecutors.

 

11.  Todd M. Brown (DOB 5/13/92) / Leslye M. Harbin (DOB 2/8/92) / Howard M. Williams, Jr. (DOB 12/27/90) - 08CR1045.  (Murder, Assault 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree)  The defendants are charged in connection with the February 15, 2008 shotting death of Branden Trumbo in a parking lot at 22nd Street and Broadway.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, July 24, Division 5, at 1:30 P.M.  Michelle Rudovich is the prosecutor.

 

 

SENTENCING

 

1.      Terribo Kohn – 06CR0742.  Mr. Kohn (DOB 12/3/58) pleaded guilty to Manslaughter in connection with the February 27, 2006 beating death of Horace Transon at a boarding house in the 3700 block of West Broadway Street.  Sentencing is scheduled for Thursday, July 23, Division 5, at 9:15 A.M.  Kristi Gray is the prosecutor.
