HEARING

  1. Jameco Jerome English – 08CR2756.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree)  Mr. English (DOB 2/21/83) is charged in connection with the August 26, 2008 shooting death of Jodel Lee Cousins whose body was found on 34th Street near Garland Avenue.  A Hearing is scheduled for Monday, July 13, Division 13, at 1:45 P.M.  Chris Hutchison is the prosecutor.
  1. Apollo R. Avery (DOB 4/9/86) / Demetrous L. Brown (DOB 7/23/88) - 08CR1586.  (Murder, Assault 1st Degree, Assault 4th Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree [8 Counts], Tampering with Physical Evidence)  The defendants are charged in connection with the May 10, 2008 shooting death of Timothy Barbour which occurred on a TARC bus at 10th Street and Broadway.   A Suppression Hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, Division 3, at 9:30 A.M.  Artie McLaughlin is the prosecutor.

PRE - TRIAL CONFERENCE

1.      John E. Belden – 09CR1634.  (Murder, Assault 1st Degree [2 Counts], Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree [7 Counts], Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Violation of a Protective Order)  Mr. Belden (DOB 2/12/88) is charged in connection with the May 31, 2009 crash which resulted in the death of 3 year old Samyah Johnson on Blue Lick Road.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, July 13, Division 10, at 9:00 A.M.  Chris Hutchison is the prosecutor.

2.      Frederick W. Davis – 09CR0399.  (Murder, Wanton Endangerment [2 Counts], Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Davis (DOB 10/1/90) is charged in connection with the February 4, 2009 shooting death of James F. Allen near the Beecher Terrace housing complex.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, Division 9, at 9:00 A.M.  Erin White is the prosecutor.

3.      Michael L. Knights (DOB 11/9/79) / Jeston Edward Murray (DOB 2/12/82) – 09CR0199.  (Murder [2 Counts], Robbery 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence [2 Counts])  The defendants are charged in connection with the December 27, 2008 beating death of Darrell Spencer at a store in the 600 block of W. Main St. and the January 4, 2009 stabbing death of Marcus Penny at an apartment at 3640 Manslick Road.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, Division 12, at 9:00 A.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.

4.      Percy D. Brown – 09CR0338.  (Murder, Kidnapping, Sodomy 1st Degree [3 Counts], Intimidating a Participant in the Legal Process [3 Counts], Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree)  Mr. Brown (DOB 8/29/63) is charged in connection with the September 16, 2004 shooting death of Jennifer French at a home in the 2600 block of West Market Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, Division 8, at 9:30 A.M.  Erin White is the prosecutor.

5.      Amy Arden (DOB 3/1/87) / Thomas Wayne Mercurio (DOB 9/9/83) – 08CR3810.  (Murder, Arson 1st Degree, Robbery 1st Degree, Receiving Stolen Property >$300, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  The defendants are charged in connection with the December 19, 2008 death of Larry Seigle whose body was found near a fire in a home in the 700 block of M Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, Division 8, at 9:15 A.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.

6.      Frankie Lee Roberson – 09CR0959.  (Murder)  Mr. Roberson (DOB 10/13/67) is charged in connection with the March 17, 2009 beating death of McOwen Drane.  Mr. Drane died from his injuries at University Hospital.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, Division 6, at 9:00 A.M.  Kristi Gray is the prosecutor.

7.      Johnny Lee Allen (DOB 11/9/87) / James A. Clark (DOB 4/29/89) – 07CR1219.  (Murder [2 Counts], Robbery 1st Degree [2 Counts], Theft by Unlawful Taking >$300, Tampering with Physical Evidence [2 Counts])  The defendants are charged in connection with the February 2, 2007 deaths of Anthony Howze and Ashley Yennes whose bodies were found in a car in an alley off of Beecher Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, July 17, Division 2, at 9:00 A.M.  Mark Baker is the prosecutor.

TRIAL

1.      Allen E. Burchett – 08CR3067.  (Murder)  Mr. Burchett (DOB 8/24/49) is charged in connection with the October 6, 2008 stabbing death of Melissa Burchett at an apartment in the 6600 block of Strawberry Lane.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, Division 4, at 10:00 A.M.  John Balliet is the prosecutor.

2.      Kevin L. Simms (AKA: Kevin Franklin) – 08CR2149.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Simms (DOB 09/15/1970) is charged in connection with the June 7, 2003 shooting death of Charles S. Miller at 2721 W. Magazine Street.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, Division 4, at 10:00 A.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.

SENTENCING

1.      James Simpson – 08CR1785.  (Murder)  Mr. Simpson (DOB 10/1/68) pleaded guilty to Reckless Homicide in connection with the September 10, 2007 shooting death of his wife, Katherine Simpson, at their home in Middletown.  Sentencing is scheduled for Wednesday, July 15, Division 7, at 9:15 A.M.  Nick Neumann is the prosecutor.
