Weekly Media Release  July 2 - 8, 2007

HEARING

 

  1. Markeyta Buford – 05CR2173.  Ms. Buford (DOB 10/8/71) pleaded guilty to Manslaughter and Tampering with Physical Evidence in connection with the July 14, 2005 shooting death of Victor Hall at 6607 Six Mile Lane.  She was sentenced to 15 years in prison.  A Shock Probation Hearing is scheduled for Monday, July 2, Division 3, at 9:45 A.M.  Katherine Kingren is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Samantha M. Kidwell (DOB 2/13/84) / Robert Spence Tucker (DOB 5/7/80) – 06CR2481.  (Murder)  The defendants are charged in connection with the December 1, 2003 shooting death of Joseph Lawrence in the 1600 block of Squires Drive.  A Suppression Hearing is scheduled for Monday, July 2, Division 7, at 1:30 P.M.  Dinah Koehler is the prosecutor.

 

 

PRE - TRIAL CONFERENCE

 

1.      Marcus Deshon Fresh – 07CR0577.  (Murder, Retaliating Against a Participant in the Legal Process)  Mr. Fresh (DOB 9/6/84) is charged in connection with the February 1, 2007 shooting death of Edrisha Reed on Tuscarora Way in the Iroquois Homes housing complex.  A Pre-Trial Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, July 3, Division 4, at 9:00 A.M.  Christie Foster is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Martha Bowmer – 07CR2069.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Ms. Bowmer (DOB 2/29/56) is charged in connection with the June 9, 2007 shooting death of William Jones in the 400 block of South 20th Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, July 3, Division 11, at 9:30 A.M.  Katherine Kingren is the prosecutor.

 

3.      Nathaniel Anderson – 07CR1398.  (Theft by Deception >$300 [2 Counts], Abuse of a Corpse [2 Counts], Violation of Trust Provision – Funeral [2 Counts], Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree)  Mr. Anderson (DOB 11/29/65) is charged in connection with the mishandling of remains in relation to his funeral services business.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, July 5, Division 11, at 9:30 A.M.  Todd Lewis is the prosecutor.

 

 

TRIAL

 

1.      Jamahll Antwan Todd – 06CR0107.  (Murder, Assault 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree)  Mr. Todd (DOB 9/9/80) is charged in connection with the December 31, 2005 shooting death of James L. Crawford at the City View Park Apartments near 11th and Chestnut streets.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Monday, July 2, Division 2, at 9:45 A.M.  Jason Butler is the prosecutor.
