ARRAIGNMENTS

Robert H. Thomas – 09CR1539.  (Murder, Attempted Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Thomas (DOB 12/15/49) is charged in connection with the May 19, 2009 stabbing death of Rosemary Stinson in an alley in the 1800 block of Duncan Street.  Arraignment is scheduled for Monday, June 1, Division 3, at 9:30 A.M.  Ryane Conroy is the prosecutor.

 

 

PRE - TRIAL CONFERENCE

 

1.      Trey Devone Skaggs – 09CR0957.  (Murder, Attempted Murder, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police, Possession of a Defaced Firearm, Resisting Arrest)  Mr. Skaggs (DOB 3/4/91) is charged in connection with the March 22, 2009 shooting death of Jose Morales Zarabia at a Speedway gas station in the 7400 block of Third Street Road.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, June 1, Division 11, at 1:00 P.M.  Lisa Cartier Giroux is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Jesse Gilbert – 07CR2959.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Forgery 1st Degree, Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Theft by Unlawful Taking <$300, Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance)  Mr. Gilbert (DOB 12/14/75) is charged in connection with the July 1, 2007 strangling death of Dennis Kellems, whose body was found July 14 at his home in the 4200 block of South Second Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, Division 13, at 9:00 A.M.  Jason Butler is the prosecutor.

 

3.      Henry J. Crawford, Jr. – 07CR0418.  (Kidnapping, Rape 1st Degree, Sodomy 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree, Robbery 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Crawford (DOB 11/6/64) is charged in connection with an October 16, 1990 robbery and sexual attack occurring on Jane Street and involving a female victim.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, June 3, Division 6, at 8:45 A.M.  Ryane Conroy is the prosecutor.

 

4.      Alexander L. Ruff – 08CR3686.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree [3 Counts])  Mr. Ruff (DOB 3/30/85) is charged in connection with the November 24, 2008 shooting death of Mohamed Abdelrahman at the New York Fashions clothing store at 2049 Lytle Street in the Portland neighborhood.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, June 4, Division 3, at 9:00 A.M.  Mark Baker is the prosecutor.

 

5.      Joseph Allen Starcher – 09CR1214.  (Criminal Attempted Murder, Assault 1st Degree [3 Counts], Disarming a Peace Officer, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree [2 Counts], Resisting Arrest, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance)  Mr. Starcher (DOB 9/8/84) is charged in connection with an April 8, 2009 incident at a home off Old Sheperdsville Road which resulted in the wounding of a Metro Police officer.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, June 4, Division 7, at 9:15 A.M.  Christie Foster is the prosecutor.

 

6.      Norman G. Smith – 05CR2324.  (Murder)  Mr. Smith (DOB 5/4/85) is charged in connection with the July 28, 2005 shooting death of Rayshon Myers in the 300 block of North 38th Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, June 4, Division 9, at 9:30 A.M.  Ryane Conroy is the prosecutor.

 

7.      Alfred Frank Sears – 09CR1074.  (Murder, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Sears (DOB 12/29/83) is charged in connection with the March 5, 2009 shooting death of Vaughn Tipton near a house in the 500 block of East Ormsby Ave.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, June 5, Division 6, at 10:00 A.M.  Felicia Nu’Man is the prosecutor.

 

 

TRIAL

 

1.      John Anthony Johnson (DOB 9/17/86) / Tiwuan Johnson (DOB 5/2/85) / Cashaye Whaley (DOB 4/24/81) / Jeramie Whaley (DOB 6/26/81) / Keiandris Whaley (DOB 7/20/82) - 08CR2964.  (ALL: Murder, Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  The defendants are charged in connection with the August 28, 2008 shooting death of James Earl Allen outside the Park Hill housing complex which is in the 1700 block of Patton Court.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Monday, June 1, Division 5, at 1:30 P.M.  Dinah Koehler is the prosecutor.
