ARRAIGNMENTS

 

  1. Martin Phillip Jackson – 07CR1666.  (Kidnapping, Assault 2nd Degree, Attempted Rape 1st Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police, Operating a Taxi Without a Valid License, Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree)  Mr. Jackson (DOB 5/17/66) is charged in connection with the May 5, 2007 abduction and beating of a female victim.  Arraignment is scheduled for Monday, May 21, Division 1, at 8:30 A.M.  Jennifer Wilcox is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Brian Daviston – 07CR1690.  (Murder [2 Counts], Assault 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree [6 Counts], Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Intoxicants)  Mr. Daviston (DOB 4/15/79) is charged in connection with the May 6, 2007 crash on Interstate 64 near the 9th Street exit which resulted in the death of Gary and Terry Crenshaw and injured another female passenger in the Crenshaws’ car.  Arraignment is scheduled for Monday, May 21, Division 4, at 10:00 A.M.  Ginny Ansert is the prosecutor.

 

  1. John Thomas Jones – 07CR1651.  (Murder)  Mr. Jones (DOB 9/26/86) is charged in connection with the April 30, 2007 shooting death of James Bland at the B-Line Food Mart at 3507 W. Broadway.  Arraignment is scheduled for Monday, May 21, Division 10, at 2:00 P.M.  There is currently an active bench warrant for Mr. Jones.  Kristi Gray is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Bart L. Cohen (DOB 12/25/65) / Michael R. Pederson (DOB 3/22/68) / Robert A. Vaillencourt (DOB 4/7/67) – 07CR1657.  (Burglary 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Arson 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Theft by Unlawful Taking >$300)  The defendants are charged in connection with March 17, 2006 robbery and 5 alarm fire at a warehouse at 12th and Zane streets.  Arraignment is scheduled for Monday, May 21, Division 11, at 2:30 P.M.  Frank Dahl is the prosecutor.

 

 

HEARING

 

  1. Willy Charles Jackson (DOB 6/6/52) / James Michael Justice (DOB 10/3/62) – 07CR0860.  (BOTH: Burglary 2nd Degree [6 Counts]; JACKSON: Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 2nd Degree [2 Counts]; JUSTICE: Sexual Abuse 3rd Degree [2 Counts], Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 1st Degree [4 Counts], Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 2nd Degree [6 Counts])  The defendants are charged with a string of burglaries from May through November of 2006 in the Germantown neighborhood and with providing drugs to two juveniles to get them to assist with the burglaries.  A Bond Hearing is scheduled for Monday, May 21, Division 13, at 9:30 A.M.  Jonathan Heck is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Carla Marie Sowers (DOB 5/12/86) / Shawndric Jardon Williams (DOB 8/11/86) / Johnetta Carr (DOB 5/25/88) – 05CR3844 & 06CR1389.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  The defendants are charged in connection with the October 23, 2005 strangling death of Planes Adolphe outside his home in the Americana Apartments.  A Hearing is scheduled for Monday, May 21, Division 11, at 3:30 P.M.  Scott Davis is the prosecutor.

 

  1. David W. Fitch – 07CR1125.  (Rape 2nd Degree, Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 3rd Degree)  Mr. Fitch (DOB 7/20/80) is charged in connection with a February 3, 2007 incident involving a 12 year old female victim which occurred at the Holiday Inn on Fern Valley Road.  A Bond Hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, May 23, Division 8, at 10:00 A.M.  Cheryl Robinson is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Leroy Lester Calloway (DOB 3/18/67) / Bruce D. Hanserd (DOB 12/29/79) / Rodney L. Anderson (DOB 9/15/77) – 06CR3381.  (CALLOWAY & HANSERD: Murder, Fleeing or Evading Police, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Intimidating a Participant in the Legal Process, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree; HANSERD: Trafficking in a Controlled Substance; ANDERSON: Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree)  The defendants are charged in connection with the October 29, 2005 shooting death of William D. Pouk in the 100 block of Kingston Drive.  A Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, May 24, Division 5, at 2:00 P.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Jeffrey E. Steitz – 07CR0277.  (Rape 2nd Degree, Sodomy 2nd Degree, Burglary 2nd Degree, Criminal Attempted Sodomy 3rd Degree, Use of a Minor in a Sexual Performance, Possession of Matter Portraying Minor in a Sexual Performance)  Mr. Steitz (DOB 6/30/64) is charged in connection with incidents involving a 12 year old female victim and another incident involving a 14 year old female victim.  A Competency Hearing is scheduled for Friday, May 25, Division 11, at 11:00 A.M.  Jonathan Heck is the prosecutor.

 

 

PRE - TRIAL CONFERENCE

 

1.      Donta L. Jones – 07CR0198.  (Murder, Assault 1st Degree [7 Counts], Robbery 2nd Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police, Criminal Mischief, Operating a Motor Vehicle by Person with Revoked Operator’s License, Disregarding Traffic Control Devise)  Mr. Jones (DOB 7/3/86) is charged in connection with the January 6, 2007 crash at First and Breckinridge streets which resulted in the death of 11 year old Demetra Boyd and injured 6 other people.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, May 21, Division 8, at 8:45 A.M.  Ryane Conroy is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Andreas Coleman (DOB 6/29/83) / Antonio D. Hawkins (DOB 2/22/85) – 07CR0106.  (Murder)  The defendants are charged in connection with the December 18, 2006 shooting death of Antonio Thompson at an apartment complex in the 200 block of Trafalgar Square.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, May 21, Division 8, at 10:30 A.M.  Ryane Conroy is the prosecutor.

 

3.      Denise A. Lamont – 07CR1268.  (Theft by Deception >$300 [42 Counts], Theft by Deception <$300 [25 Counts], Forgery 2nd Degree [40 Counts])  Ms. Lamont (DOB 5/29/61) is charged in connection with the taking of funds from Lincoln Elementary School.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, May 23, Division 7, at 9:00 A.M.  John Balliet is the prosecutor.

 

4.      Carey D. McNeil (DOB 8/31/86) / Jesus Francisco Solis (DOB 12/6/88) / Antonio Marco Solis-Lopez (DOB 11/14/76) – 07CR0329.  (ALL: Murder [2 Counts], Assault 1st Degree, Robbery 1st Degree [3 Counts], Kidnapping, Trafficking in Marijuana, Tampering with Physical Evidence; SOLIS-LOPEZ: Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree)  The defendants are charged in connection with the January 12, 2007 shooting deaths of Isaac Vidaurri Perez and Isaias Perez Gallegos at the Jefferson Square Apartments at 5405 Outer Loop.  A third man was also wounded in the incident.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, May 24, Division 1, at 10:30 A.M.  David Lewis is the prosecutor.

 

5.      Adam Anthony Barker – 07CR0691.  (Murder, Criminal Attempted Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence [2 Counts], Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree)  Mr. Barker (DOB 11/13/81) is charged in connection with the October 12, 2003 shooting death of Zachary Scarpellini in the 1200 block of Cherokee Road at Longest Road.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, May 25, Division 6, at 8:45 A.M.  Mac Shannon is the prosecutor.

 

6.      Nathaniel Anderson – 07CR1398.  (Theft by Deception >$300 [2 Counts], Abuse of a Corpse [2 Counts], Violation of Trust Provision – Funeral [2 Counts], Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree)  Mr. Anderson (DOB 11/29/65) is charged in connection with the mishandling of remains in relation to his funeral services business.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, May 25, Division 11, at 9:30 A.M.  Todd Lewis is the prosecutor.

 

 

TRIAL

 

1.      Tywan Monte Beaumont (DOB 1/4/83) / Christian O. Walker (11/27/85) – 04CR3572.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  The defendants are charged in connection with the December 8, 2004 shooting death of Shirley Thomas on Camden Avenue.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Monday, May 21, Division 11, at 10:00 A.M.  Rick Taylor is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Tyrus Lamont Harvey – 05CR3358. (Robbery 1st Degree [10 Counts], Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Escape 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Harvey (DOB 9/9/69) is charged in connection with the armed robbery of numerous businesses throughout Jefferson County.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, May 22, Division 10, at 10:00 A.M.  Kristi Gray is the prosecutor.

 

3.      James B. Skaggs – 06CR3125.  (Sodomy 3rd Degree [3 Counts])  Mr. Skaggs (DOB 12/4/46), a former teacher at West Point Independent School, is charged in connection with the abuse of a 13 year old female victim in 1977 and 1978.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, May 23, Division 13, at 9:30 A.M.  Jonathan Heck is the prosecutor.
