PRE - TRIAL CONFERENCE 1. David Jason Stinson – 09CR0207. (Reckless Homicide) Mr. Stinson (DOB 9/16/72) is charged in connection with the August 23, 2008 death of Max Gilpin who collapsed at an August 20, 2008 football practice at Pleasure Ridge Park High School. A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, May 11, Division 12, at 9:00 A.M. David Stengel and Leland Hulbert are the prosecutors. 2. Kungu Njuguna – 09CR0693. (Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree, Tampering with a Witness, Violation of an Order of Release) Mr. Njuguna (DOB 5/14/78), a former Assistant County Attorney, is charged in connection with a February 6, 2009 incident involving a female victim being struck by a vehicle and carried on the hood of the vehicle for a distance. A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, May 11, Division 13, at 9:00 A.M. John Balliet is the prosecutor. 3. James Simpson – 08CR1785. (Murder) Mr. Simpson (DOB 10/1/68) is charged in connection with the September 10, 2007 shooting death of his wife, Katherine Simpson, at their home in Middletown. A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, Division 7, at 9:15 A.M. Nick Neumann is the prosecutor. 4. Martin W. Hughes – 08CR0511. (Murder [2 Counts], Abuse of Corpse [2 Counts], Tampering with Physical Evidence) Mr. Hughes (DOB 10/9/87) is charged in connection with the February 2, 2008 shooting deaths of Laura Hughes and Tessa Hughes in a home in the 4700 block of Zilma Drive. A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, May 14, Division 3, at 9:00 A.M. Dorislee Gilbert is the prosecutor. 5. Charles D. Patterson – 09CR0061. (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree) Mr. Patterson (DOB 6/23/81) is charged in connection with the October 2005 stabbing death of Floyd Robey, III at his home on Kenhurst Drive. A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, May 14, Division 10, at 9:15 A.M. Jason Butler is the prosecutor. 6. Don S. Fielder – 09CR0574. (Murder, Rape 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence) Mr. Fielder (DOB 8/16/83) is charged in connection with the February 12, 2009 death of Antigone Graham Smith at her apartment on Zachary Circle in the Park Place Apartments. A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, May 14, Division 12, at 9:30 A.M. Erin White is the prosecutor. 7. Christopher L. Gordon – 09CR1028. (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence) Mr. Gordon (DOB 9/10/89) is charged in connection with the March 24, 2009 shooting death of Norman Beals, Jr. at 23rd and Kentucky streets. A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, May 15, Division 9, at 8:30 A.M. Chris Hutchison is the prosecutor. 8. Adam Anthony Barker – 07CR0691. (Murder, Criminal Attempted Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence [2 Counts], Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree) Mr. Barker (DOB 11/13/81) is charged in connection with the October 12, 2003 shooting death of Zachary Scarpellini in the 1200 block of Cherokee Road at Longest Road. A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, May 15, Division 6, at 9:00 A.M. Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor. 9. Frankie Lee Roberson – 09CR0959. (Murder) Mr. Roberson (DOB 10/13/67) is charged in connection with the March 17, 2009 beating death of McOwen Drane. Mr. Drane died from his injuries at University Hospital. A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, May 15, Division 6, at 10:15 A.M. Kristi Gray is the prosecutor. 10. Johnny Lee Allen (DOB 11/9/87) / James A. Clark (DOB 4/29/89) – 07CR1219. (Murder [2 Counts], Robbery 1st Degree [2 Counts], Theft by Unlawful Taking >$300, Tampering with Physical Evidence [2 Counts]) The defendants are charged in connection with the February 2, 2007 deaths of Anthony Howze and Ashley Yennes whose bodies were found in a car in an alley off of Beecher Street. A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, May 15, Division 2, at 1:30 P.M. Mark Baker is the prosecutor. TRIAL 1. Lloyd Hammond – 07CR4123. (Murder) Mr. Hammond (DOB 10/20/85) is charged in connection with the June 17, 2006 shooting death of Kerry Williams in the 700 block of South 23rd Street. A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Monday, May 11, Division 7, at 1:30 P.M. Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor. 2. Cory M. Gibson – 08CR1984. (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Sodomy 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence) Mr. Gibson (DOB 2/25/86) is charged in connection with the April 5, 2007 strangulation death of ZoAnn McCampbell, whose body was found in a parking lot in the area of Manslick Road and Crums Lane. A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Friday, May 15, Division 4, at 1:00 P.M. Jason Butler is the prosecutor. SENTENCING 1. Kathryn E. McCoy – 07CR4107. Ms. McCoy (DOB 4/6/88) was found guilty of Tampering with Physical Evidence in connection with the October 24, 2006 death of her baby in a dorm at Bellarmine University.
