ARRAIGNMENTS

 

  1. Dashad Raleek Eubanks (DOB 7/4/89) /  Marilyn Amanda McCloud (DOB 1/23/88) /  Lajuan Lamont Vaughn (DOB 2/26/90) - 08CR1443.  (Murder, Criminal Attempted Murder [2 Counts], Robbery 1st Degree [3 Counts], Assault 1st Degree [2 Counts])  The defendants are charged in connection with the April 17, 2008 shooting death of Jermaine Bibb near Boone Square Park in Portland.  Two other victims were wounded in the incident.  Arraignment is scheduled for Monday, May 5, Division 11, at 2:30 P.M.  Lisa Cartier Giroux is the prosecutor.

 

 

HEARING

 

  1. Louis M. Smith – 08CR1287.  (Knowing Exploitation of an Adult, Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition of Property [2 Counts], Criminal Possession of Forged Instrument [2 Counts], Tampering with a Witness, Tampering with Public Records, Unauthorized Practice of Law)  Mr. Smith (DOB 11/1/48) is charged in connection with the mishandling of funds for clients.  A Bond Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, Division 1, at 10:00 A.M.  Todd Lewis is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Dale Edward Moneypenny (DOB 3/23/80) / Jennifer Lynn Smith (DOB 6/17/82) – 06CR1025.  (BOTH: Murder [2 counts], Arson 1st Degree [2 Counts], Robbery 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence; MONEYPENNY: Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  The defendants are charged in connection with the March 24, 2006 stabbing death of Charles Edward Poynter in the 100 block of Harlan Avenue and Blaine Thacker, Jr. in the 400 block of West Ormsby Avenue.  A Hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, May 7, Division 5, at 1:30 P.M.  David Lewis is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Kenneth P. Gatewood – 08CR1184.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Gatewood (DOB 3/11/82) is charged in connection with the March 17, 2006 shooting death of Kerivan Muniz Vargas in the 700 block of Clay Street.  A Bond Hearing is scheduled for Friday, May 9, Division 1, at 9:00 A.M.  Mark Baker is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Raymal L. Rivers – 06CR1806.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Wanton Endangerment [12 Counts])  Mr. Rivers (DOB 10/10/79) is charged in connection with the May 27, 2006 shooting death of Larry Johnson in the McDonald’s restaurant parking lot in the 12000 block of Lagrange Road.  A Competency Hearing is scheduled for Friday, May 9, Division 12, at 11:00 A.M.  Artie McLaughlin is the prosecutor.

 

 

PRE - TRIAL CONFERENCE

 

1.      Gabriel D. Nelson – 08CR0382.  (Murder, Assault 2nd Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree [2 Counts], Reckless Driving, Speeding >26 MPH Over, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Nelson (DOB 5/10/76) is charged in connection with the January 22, 2008 crash on Taylor Boulevard which resulted in the death of Latonia Mitchell.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, May 5, Division 3, at 11:30 A.M.  Chris Hutchison and Nick Neumann are the prosecutors.

 

2.      Lloyd Hammond – 06CR2087.  (Murder [2 Counts], Burglary 1st Degree, Kidnapping)  Mr. Hammond (DOB 10/20/85) is charged in connection with the June 3, 2006 shooting death of William Sawyers in the 2000 block of West Market Street and the June 17, 2006 shooting death of Kerry Williams in the 700 block of South 23rd Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, May 5, Division 7, at 1:30 P.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.

 

3.      Ronny D. Walker – 07CR3112.  (Murder, Burglary 1st Degree, Tampering with a Witness [2 Counts], Intimidating a Participant in the Legal Process [4 Counts], Tampering with Physical Evidence, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Walker (DOB 1/22/65) is charged in connection with the September 15, 2007 beating death of Derek Anthony Scott in a home in the 4200 block of Fordson Way.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, Division 13, at 9:00 A.M.  Christie Foster is the prosecutor.

 

4.      David W. Fitch – 07CR1125.  (Rape 2nd Degree, Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 3rd Degree)  Mr. Fitch (DOB 7/20/80) is charged in connection with a February 3, 2007 incident involving a 12 year old female victim which occurred at the Holiday Inn on Fern Valley Road.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, May 6, Division 8, at 9:30 A.M.  Cheryl Robinson is the prosecutor.

 

5.      Dominic D. Simonton – 07CR0952 & 06CR3111.  (Murder, Assault 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Simonton (DOB 7/4/77) is charged in connection with the October 6, 2006 death of Derrick Watkins which resulted from a September 18, 2006 shooting near Preston and Oak and St. Catherine.  Another victim was wounded in this same incident.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, May 7, Division 5, at 11:00 A.M.  Scott Davis is the prosecutor.

 

6.      Eric M. Ward (DOB 8/14/87) / Henry Lamont Gunn (DOB 5/9/84) / Steven Paulley (DOB 11/1/85) / Eric Taylor (DOB 12/19/86)– 07CR2455, 07CR2651 & 07CR2924.  (Murder, Burglary 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree [9 Counts] Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree [9 Counts]; Tampering with Physical Evidence, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon)  The defendants are charged in connection with the June 6, 2007 shooting death of Rocky Brown at a home in the 4000 block of Caspian Drive.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, May 9, Division 8, at 8:15 A.M.  Erin White is the prosecutor.

 

7.      Henry A. Booker, Jr. – 08CR0121.  (Murder, Arson 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree, Abuse of Corpse, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree)  Mr. Booker (DOB 8/29/70) is charged in connection with the January 2, 2008 death of James Happel whose body was found in a burning home in the 600 block of Iowa Avenue.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, May 9, Division 12, at 9:00 A.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.

 

 

TRIAL

 

1.      William O. Ayers – 07CR2525.  (Perjury 1st Degree, Acting as a Bail Bondsman)  Mr. Ayers (DOB 5/17/47), an attorney, is charged in connection with the posting of bond for clients.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, May 7, Division 4, at 10:00 A.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.
