ARRAIGNMENTS

1. Alfred Frank Sears – 09CR1074.  (Murder, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Sears (DOB 12/29/83) is charged in connection with the March 5, 2009 shooting death of Vaughn Tipton near a house in the 500 block of East Ormsby Ave.  Arraignment is scheduled for Monday, April 20, Division 6, at 11:00 A.M.  Felicia Nu’Man is the prosecutor.

2. Herbert Eugene Lee, III – 09CR1095.  (Murder [4 Counts], Receiving Stolen Property >$300, Fleeing or Evading Police, Operating a Motor Vehicle without an Operator’s License, Reckless Driving)  Mr. Lee (DOB 4/2/92) is charged in connection with the December 18, 2008 crash at First and Hill streets which resulted in the death of Aaron Shields and brothers Jemar, Demar and Marc Claybrooks.  Arraignment has already occurred.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, May 20, Division 3, at 8:45 A.M.  Michelle Rudovich is the prosecutor.

3. James Edward Stover – 09CR1102.  (Murder, Robbery 1^st Degree, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Trafficking in Marijuana, Persistent Felony Offender 2^nd Degree)  Mr. Stover (DOB 4/2/84) is charged in connection with the April 3, 2009 shooting death of Camden McCroskey in the parking lot of Outer Loop Plaza.  Arraignment has already occurred.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, May 29, Division 13, at 9:00 A.M.  Nick Neumann is the prosecutor.

HEARING

1. Norman G. Smith – 05CR2324.  (Murder)  Mr. Smith (DOB 5/4/85) is charged in connection with the July 28, 2005 shooting death of Rayshon Myers in the 300 block of North 38th Street.  A Status Hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, Division 9, at 10:00 A.M.  Ryane Conroy is the prosecutor.

2. John M. Davis, Jr. – 08CR2455.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Davis (DOB 8/3/69) is charged in connection with the August 10, 2008 shooting death of Eddie Robinson at a car wash near the intersection of Stonestreet and 3^rd Street roads.  A Suppression Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, Division 6, at 10:30 A.M.  Mark Baker is the prosecutor.

PRE - TRIAL CONFERENCE

1.      Crystal Lee Gordon (DOB 12/15/79) / Reginald Grider (DOB 10/23/91) / Damon Phelps (DOB 10/9/92)– 08CR2816 & 08CR3131.  (ALL: Murder, Robbery 1^st Degree; GORDON: Persistent Felony Offender 2^nd Degree; GRIDER: Possession of a Handgun by a Minor)  The defendants are charged in connection with the September 12, 2008 shooting death of Cesario Gomez at the Yorktown Apartments in the 7400 block of Garrison Road.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, April 20, Division 12, at 9:15 A.M.  Leland Hulbert and Michelle Rudovich are the prosecutors.

2.      Michael A. Elery – 09CR0625.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Violation of a Protective Order)  Mr. Elery (DOB 3/29/79) is charged in connection with the February, 20, 2009 stabbing death of Dana McDonald at an apartment in the 3300 block of Warwickshire Court.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, April 20, Division 10, at 9:45 A.M.  Michelle Rudovich is the prosecutor.

3.      Brandon Scott Jones – 08CR3264.  (Murder, Robbery 1^st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Jones (DOB 9/22/88) is charged in connection with the October 27, 2008 stabbing death of Sharon R. Jones in an apartment in the 1700 block of Belmar Drive.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, Division 12, at 9:00 A.M.  Michelle Rudovich is the prosecutor.

4.      Gary A. Lindsey, Jr. – 09CR0695.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Lindsey (DOB 4/1/88) is charged in connection with the January 27, 2009 shooting death of William Wagner near 28^th and Main streets in the Portland neighborhood.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, Division 12, at 9:30 A.M.  Jennifer Wilcox is the prosecutor.

5.      Gail Lynn Coontz – 08CR1574.  (Murder [2 Counts], Tampering with Physical Evidence, Terroristic Threatening, Unlawful Imprisonment 1^st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1^st Degree)  Ms. Coontz (DOB 7/8/70) is charged in connection with the March 27, 2008 shooting death of her two children, Greg and Nikki, whose bodies were found in her home on Settle Boulevard in Okolona.  She is also charged in connection with an incident at the University of Louisville health services counseling center.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, Division 5, at 9:00 A.M.  Dorislee Gilbert is the prosecutor.

6.      Kevin D. Luther – 09CR0794.  (Theft by Unlawful Taking >$300 [95 Counts])  Mr. Luther (DOB 4/24/65) is charged in connection with the unlawful taking of funds from the Hyatt Regency Hotel between March 2007 and December 2008  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, Division 12, at 9:30 A.M.  Stacy Greive is the prosecutor.

7.      Jameco Jerome English – 08CR2756.  (Murder, Robbery 1^st Degree, Persistent Felony Offender 2^nd Degree)  Mr. English (DOB 2/21/83) is charged in connection with the August 26, 2008 shooting death of Jodel Lee Cousins whose body was found on 34^th Street near Garland Avenue.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, April 24, Division 13, at 9:30 A.M.  Chris Hutchison is the prosecutor.

SENTENCING

1.      Marcus Deshon Fresh – 07CR0577.  Mr. Fresh (DOB 9/6/84) was found guilty of Murder and Retaliating Against a Participant in the Legal Process in connection with the February 1, 2007 shooting death of Edrisha Reed on Tuscarora Way in the Iroquois Homes housing complex.  Sentencing is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, Division 4, at 9:00 A.M.  Christie Foster is the prosecutor.
