ARRAIGNMENTS

 

  1. Martell D. Bennett – 08CR1148.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Intimidating a Participant in the Legal Process, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Bennett (DOB 1/1/83) is charged in connection with the November 1, 2007 shooting death of Trey Weathers in the front yard of a home in the 800 block of 40th Street.  Arraignment has already occurred.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, April 30, Division 13, at 10:30 A.M.  Nick Neuman is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Kenneth P. Gatewood – 08CR1184.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Gatewood (DOB 3/11/82) is charged in connection with the March 17, 2006 shooting death of Kerivan Muniz Vargas in the 700 block of Clay Street.  Arraignment is scheduled for Monday, April 14, Division 1, at 8:30 A.M.  Mark Baker is the prosecutor.

 

 

HEARING

 

  1. Todd M. Brown (DOB 5/13/92) / Leslye M. Harbin (DOB 2/8/92) / Howard M. Williams, Jr. (DOB 12/27/90) - 08CR1045.  (Murder, Assault 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree)  The defendants are charged in connection with the February 15, 2008 shotting death of Branden Trumbo in a parking lot at 22nd Street and Broadway.  A Bond Hearing is scheduled for Monday, April 14, Division 5, at 9:00 A.M.  Scott Davis is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Tyrus Lamont Harvey – 05CR3358. (Robbery 1st Degree [10 Counts], Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Escape 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Harvey (DOB 9/9/69) is charged in connection with the armed robbery of numerous businesses throughout Jefferson County.  A Competency Hearing is scheduled for Monday, April 4, Division 10, at 11:15 A.M.  Kristi Gray is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Johnny Lee Allen (DOB 11/9/87) / James A. Clark (DOB 4/29/89) – 07CR1219.  (Murder [2 Counts], Robbery 1st Degree [2 Counts], Theft by Unlawful Taking >$300, Tampering with Physical Evidence [2 Counts])  The defendants are charged in connection with the February 2, 2007 deaths of Anthony Howze and Ashley Yennes whose bodies were found in a car in an alley off of Beecher Street.  A Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, Division 2, at 10:00 A.M.  Scott Davis is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Dante Pardue (DOB 10/21/91) / Troy Cole (DOB 2/8/88) / Amy Merrick (DOB 6/18/84) / Sharon Robinson (DOB 10/25/86) – 07CR2771.  (PARDUE: Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree; COLE: Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Illegal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; MERRICK & ROBINSON: Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Illegal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia)  The defendants are charged in connection with a July 1, 2007 robbery in the 4500 block of Beechbrook Road in Newburg which resulted in the shooting death of Jordan Adams.  A Suppression Hearing is scheduled for Friday, April 18, Division 1, at 9:30 A.M.  Khalid Kahloon is the prosecutor.

 

 

PRE - TRIAL CONFERENCE

 

1.      Vicki Monroe - 02CR1367.  (Murder)  Ms. Monroe (DOB 10/10/60) is charged in connection with the June 1, 2002 shooting death of Jerry Monroe at 4300 Fegenbush Lane.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, April 14, Division 9, at 8:30 A.M.  Carol Cobb is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Lloyd Hammond – 06CR2087.  (Murder [2 Counts], Burglary 1st Degree, Kidnapping)  Mr. Hammond (DOB 10/20/85) is charged in connection with the June 3, 2006 shooting death of William Sawyers in the 2000 block of West Market Street and the June 17, 2006 shooting death of Kerry Williams in the 700 block of South 23rd Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, April 14, Division 7, at 2:30 P.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.

 

3.      Juan Kessea Berry – 07CR0558 & 08CR1047.  (Sodomy 1st Degree, Sexual Abuse 1st Degree, Unlawful Transaction with a Minor, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Berry (DOB 11/10/71) is charged in connection with the January 30, 2007 abuse of a 14 year old male Meyzeek Middle School student as the victim exited a bus at the intersection of Preston and Broadway streets.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, Division 7, at 9:30 A.M.  Dorislee Gilbert is the prosecutor.

 

4.      Brian Daviston – 07CR1690.  (Murder [2 Counts], Assault 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree [6 Counts], Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Intoxicants)  Mr. Daviston (DOB 4/15/79) is charged in connection with the May 6, 2007 crash on Interstate 64 near the 9th Street exit which resulted in the death of Gary and Terry Crenshaw and injured another female passenger in the Crenshaws’ car.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, April 17, Division 4, at 9:45 A.M.  Chris Hutchison is the prosecutor.

 

5.      Warren Lee Back – 06CR2044, 06CR2418 & 06CR2903.  (Robbery 1st Degree [4 Counts], Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Back (DOB 6/9/79) is charged in connection with several robberies in Jefferson County between November 2005 and June 2006.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, April 18, Division 7, at 8:45 A.M.  Jennifer Wilcox is the prosecutor.

 

6.      Martin W. Hughes – 08CR0511.  (Murder [2 Counts], Abuse of Corpse [2 Counts], Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Hughes (DOB 10/9/87) is charged in connection with the February 2, 2008 shooting deaths of Laura Hughes and Tessa Hughes in a home in the 4700 block of Zilma Drive.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, April 18, Division 3, at 9:15 A.M.  Dorislee Gilbert is the prosecutor.

 

 

TRIAL

 

1.      William O. Ayers – 06CR1930.  (Perjury 1st Degree, Forgery 2nd Degree [3 Counts], Tampering with Public Records [3 Counts])  Mr. Ayers (DOB 5/17/47), an attorney, is charged in connection with the posting of bond for clients.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, Division 9, at 9:30 A.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.

 

2.      James B. Skaggs – 06CR3125.  (Sodomy 3rd Degree [3 Counts])  Mr. Skaggs (DOB 12/4/46), a former teacher at West Point Independent School, is charged in connection with the abuse of a 13 year old female victim in 1977 and 1978.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, April 16, Division 13, at 9:30 A.M.  Jonathan Heck is the prosecutor.

 

3.      Shawndric Jardon Williams (DOB 8/11/86) / Johnetta Carr (DOB 5/25/88) – 05CR3844 & 06CR1389.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  The defendants are charged in connection with the October 23, 2005 strangling death of Planes Adolphe outside his home in the Americana Apartments.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Friday, April 18, Division 11, at 10:00 A.M.  Scott Davis is the prosecutor.
