Weekly Media Release  March 30 - April 5, 2009

 PRE - TRIAL CONFERENCE

1.      Martell D. Bennett – 08CR1148.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Intimidating a Participant in the Legal Process, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Bennett (DOB 1/1/83) is charged in connection with the November 1, 2007 shooting death of Trey Weathers in the front yard of a home in the 800 block of 40th Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, March 30, Division 13, at 9:00 A.M.  Nick Neuman is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Arthur R. Pledger, Jr. – 08CR3642.  (Rape 3rd Degree [2 Counts])  Mr. Pledger (DOB 8/16/81) is charged in connection with the rape of a 15 year old female victim.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, March 30, Division 6, at 9:15 A.M.  John Balliet is the prosecutor.

 

3.      Glenda L. Graves – 09CR0006.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Ms. Graves (DOB 8/7/54) is charged in connection with the December 28, 2008 stabbing death of Norman Williams who was found in a Beecher Terrace apartment in the 400 block of South 12th Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, March 30, Division 13, at 9:15 A.M.  Michelle Rudovich is the prosecutor.

 

4.      Susan Kay Lukjan – 09CR0440.  (Arson 2nd Degree, Burning Personal Property to Defraud Insurer, Fraudulent Insurance Acts >$300)  Ms. Lukjan (DOB 8/7/63) is charged in connection with the August 16, 2006 fire at Campbell’s Gourmet Cottage then located at 127 N. Sherrin Ave.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, April 1, Division 7, at 8:45 A.M.  Artie McLaughlin is the prosecutor.

 

5.      Amy Arden (DOB 3/1/87) / Thomas Wayne Mercurio (DOB 9/9/83) – 08CR3810.  (Murder, Arson 1st Degree, Robbery 1st Degree, Receiving Stolen Property >$300, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  The defendants are charged in connection with the December 19, 2008 death of Larry Seigle whose body was found near a fire in a home in the 700 block of M Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, April 1, Division 8, at 10:00 A.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.
