HEARING

 

  1. Melvin L. Alexander – 05CR3220 & 06CR2131.  Mr. Alexander (DOB 3/3/38) pleaded guilty to Theft by Deception >$300 [20 Counts], Knowing and Willful Exploitation of an Adult [13 Counts] in connection with the taking of money from victims involving a scam whereby victims thought they were helping out a representative of the United African Church.  He was sentenced to 15 years to serve.  A Shock Probation Hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, March 28, Division 6, at 10:00 A.M.  Jason Snyder is the prosecutor.

 

  1. LeRoy Cedric Stoner, Jr. – 06CR0356.  (Murder)  Mr. Stoner (DOB 4/21/80) is charged in connection with the January 25, 2006 death of 2 year old LeSean Smith.  A Suppression Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, March 29, Division 8, at 9:00 A.M.  Carol Cobb is the prosecutor.

 

  1. David Carl Ola – 07CR0105.  (Murder)  Mr. Ola (DOB 3/1/66) is charged in connection with the December 30, 2006 shooting death of Russell Ola at a house on Granger Road in the Fairdale community.  A Bond Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, March 29, Division 5, at 10:00 A.M.  Katherine Kingren is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Kenneth S. Kurz – 06CR3526.  (Murder, Knowing Abuse or Neglect of an Adult by a Caretaker)  Mr. Kurz (DOB 7/31/56) is charged in connection with the death of his mother, Susanna Kurz, at their home in the St. Matthews area.  A Suppression Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, March 29, Division 5, at 2:00 P.M.  Todd Lewis is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Nelson T. Little – 06CR3651.  (Murder)  Mr. Little (DOB 12/15/83) is charged in connection with the November 7, 2006 beating death of Linda Hamill.  The incident took place at an apartment on Beuchel Bank Road.  A Suppression Hearing is scheduled for Friday, March 30, Division 3, at 12:00 P.M.  Christie Foster is the prosecutor.

 

 

 

PRE - TRIAL CONFERENCE

 

1.      Michael E. Chapman – 05CR3689.  (Robbery 1st Degree [7 Counts], Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Chapman (DOB 1/23/73) is charged in connection with the robbery of several banks in the Louisville area.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, March 26, Division 9, at 8:45 A.M.  John Balliet is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Todd E. Smith (DOB 5/15/70) / Sybil M. Smith (DOB 5/19/38) – 06CR1444.  (BOTH: Theft By Deception [10 Counts], Failure to Make Required Disposition of Property >$300)  The defendants are charged in connection with the mishandling of charitable funds intended for ALS related causes.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, March 26, Division 3, at 11:30 A.M.  Todd Lewis is the prosecutor.

 

3.      Samantha M. Kidwell (DOB 2/13/84) / Robert Spence Tucker (DOB 5/7/80) – 06CR2481.  (Murder)  The defendants are charged in connection with the December 1, 2003 shooting death of Joseph Lawrence in the 1600 block of Squires Drive.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, March 27, Division 7, at 8:30 A.M.  Dinah Koehler is the prosecutor.

 

4.      Henry Beck Livingston – 07CR0330.  (Theft by Deception >$300 [11 Counts], Criminal Attempted Theft by Deception [2 Counts], Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Livingston (DOB 8/1/59) is charged in connection with unlawfully selling merchandise that didn’t exist.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, March 28, Division 6, at 10:00 A.M.  Jason Snyder is the prosecutor.

 

5.      Andreas Coleman (DOB 6/29/83) / Antonio D. Hawkins (DOB 2/22/85) – 07CR0106.  (Murder)  The defendants are charged in connection with the December 18, 2006 shooting death of Antonio Thompson at an apartment complex in the 200 block of Trafalgar Square.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, March 28, Division 9, at 10:30 A.M.  Ryane Conroy is the prosecutor.

 

6.      Ronda L. Ferrell – 06CR3650.  (Knowing Abuse or Neglect of an Adult, Assault 1st Degree)  Ms. Ferrell (DOB 11/20/62) is charged in connection with the abuse of her 19 year old daughter, who has cerebral palsy.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, March 29, Division 10, at 9:30 A.M.  Todd Lewis is the prosecutor.

 

7.      Adam Anthony Barker – 07CR0691.  (Murder, Criminal Attempted Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence [2 Counts], Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree)  Mr. Barker (DOB 11/13/81) is charged in connection with the October 12, 2003 shooting death of Zachary Scarpellini in the 1200 block of Cherokee Road at Longest Road.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, March 30, Division 6, at 8:45 A.M.  Mac Shannon is the prosecutor.

 

8.      Marcus Deshon Fresh – 07CR0577.  (Murder, Retaliating Against a Participant in the Legal Process)  Mr. Fresh (DOB 9/6/84) is charged in connection with the February 1, 2007 shooting death of Edrisha Reed on Tuscarora Way in the Iroquois Homes housing complex.  A Pre-Trial Hearing is scheduled for Friday, March 30, Division 4, at 9:30 A.M.  Christie Foster is the prosecutor.

 

 

 

TRIAL

 

1.      Michael W. Buchanan – 06CR1308.  (Murder)  Mr. Buchanan (DOB 12/13/50) is charged in connection with the April 11, 2006 stabbing death of Tyson Sanders at an apartment in the 400 block of West Ormsby Avenue.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, March 27, Division 9, at 9:30 A.M.  Mark Baker is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Dr. Wrenda Gallien (DOB 5/3/51) / Eric Brown (DOB 2/20/71) - 03CR3073, 03CR3204 & 05CR1084. (BOTH: Obtaining Controlled Substance by Fraud or Deceit [15 Counts]; GALLIEN: Tampering with Physical Evidence, Wrongfully Filling Prescriptions [9 Counts], Prohibited Activities Relating to a Controlled Substance [13 Counts]; BROWN: Possession of a Controlled Substance – Hydrocodone, Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree) The defendants are charged in connection with illegal prescription of medications at the Alternative Health & Welfare Wellness Center at Ten Broeck Hospital on La Grange Road.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, March 27, Division 12, at 9:30 A.M.  Ruth Lerner is the prosecutor.

 

 

 

SENTENCING

 

1.      Henry Louis Willis – 06CR1514.  Mr. Willis (DOB 12/2/88) pleaded guilty to Manslaughter 2nd Degree and Robbery 1st Degree [2 Counts] in connection with an August 15, 2005 incident in the 3200 block of Herman Street involving the robbery of two individuals and resulting in the shooting death of Rayford Brown.  Sentencing is scheduled for Wednesday, March 28, Division 7, at 9:30 A.M.  Scott Davis is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Terrance E. Miles – 05CR0740.  Mr. Miles (DOB 6/15/72) was found guilty of Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree in connection with the February 27, 2005 shooting death of Michael Teasley at Club 502 on Dixie Highway.  Sentencing is scheduled for Friday, March 30, Division 9, at 8:45 A.M.  Scott Davis is the prosecutor.
