HEARING

 

  1. Norman G. Smith – 05CR2324.  (Murder)  Mr. Smith (DOB 5/4/85) is charged in connection with the July 28, 2005 shooting death of Rayshon Myers in the 300 block of North 38th Street.  A Suppression Hearing is scheduled for Monday, March 3, Division 9, at 10:00 A.M.  Ryane Conroy is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Carlos Lamont Ordway – 07CR3193.  (Robbery 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree [2 Counts], Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Ordway (DOB 6/21/81) is charged in connection with the August 6, 2007 robbery of the Chase Bank in the 4000 block of Poplar Level Road.  Two bank employees were wounded during the robbery.  A Competency Hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, March 5, Division 2, at 8:30 A.M.  Jennifer Wilcox is the prosecutor.

 

  1. William O. Ayers – 06CR1930 & 07CR2525.  (Perjury 1st Degree [2 Counts], Forgery 2nd Degree [3 Counts], Tampering with Public Records [3 Counts], Acting as a Bail Bondsman)  Mr. Ayers (DOB 5/17/47), an attorney, is charged in connection with the posting of bond for clients.  A Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, March 6, Division 9, at 9:30 A.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Martin Phillip Jackson – 07CR1666 & 07CR2321.  (Kidnapping, Burglary, Assault 2nd Degree, Attempted Rape 1st Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police, Operating a Taxi Without a Valid License, Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree)  Mr. Jackson (DOB 5/17/66) is charged in connection with the May 5, 2007 abduction and beating of a female victim.  A Suppression Hearing is scheduled for Friday, March 7, Division 1, at 10:00 A.M.  Jennifer Wilcox and Ryane Conroy are the prosecutors.

 

 

PRE - TRIAL CONFERENCE

 

1.      Warren Lee Back – 06CR2044, 06CR2418 & 06CR2903.  (Robbery 1st Degree [4 Counts], Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Back (DOB 6/9/79) is charged in connection with several robberies in Jefferson County between November 2005 and June 2006.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, March 3, Division 7, at 9:30 A.M.  Jennifer Wilcox is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Rachel Bowerman (DOB 1/9/78) / Shaconda Daniel (DOB12/21/79) / Gail McWhorter (DOB 4/11/45) / Tonita Thompson (DOB 9/19/73) – 07CR2793.  (BOWERMAN: Manslaughter 2nd Degree, Wanton Abuse of an Adult; McWHORTER: Perjury 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Reckless Abuse of an Adult; DANIEL & THOMPSON: Perjury 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  The defendants are charged in connection with the June 25, 2006 injury death of Lois Bright and subsequent Grand Jury investigation.  Ms. Bright was a patient at Four Courts Senior Center in Jefferson County.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, March 3, Division 2, at 11:00 A.M.  Todd Lewis is the prosecutor.

 

3.      Carlos A. Lagantta – 07CR2855.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Lagantta (DOB 10/24/78) is charged in connection with the August 30, 2007 death of Tina Tatro whose body was found in an apartment at 116 E. Burnett Ave.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, March 5, Division 7, at 8:30 A.M.  Jason Butler is the prosecutor.

 

4.      Jesse Gilbert – 07CR2959.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Forgery 1st Degree, Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Theft by Unlawful Taking <$300, Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance)  Mr. Gilbert (DOB 12/14/75) is charged in connection with the July 1, 2007 strangling death of Dennis Kellems, whose body was found July 14 at his home in the 4200 block of South Second Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, March 5, Division 13, at 8:30 A.M.  Jason Butler is the prosecutor.

 

5.      Mohammad Muse – 06CR2424.  (Sexual Abuse 1st Degree [3 Counts], Knowing Abuse of an Adult by a Caretaker [3 Counts])  Mr. Muse (DOB 10/3/81), while an employee of Jewish Hospital, is charged in connection with the sexual abuse of three patients.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, March 6, Division 2, at 8:30 A.M.  Todd Lewis is the prosecutor.

 

6.      Eric M. Ward (DOB 8/14/87) / Henry Lamont Gunn (DOB 5/9/84) / Steven Paulley (DOB 11/1/85) / Eric Taylor (DOB 12/19/86)– 07CR2455, 07CR2651 & 07CR2924.  (Murder, Burglary 1st Degree, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree [9 Counts] Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree [9 Counts]; Tampering with Physical Evidence, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon)  The defendants are charged in connection with the June 6, 2007 shooting death of Rocky Brown at a home in the 4000 block of Caspian Drive.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, March 7, Division 8, at 8:15 A.M.  Erin White is the prosecutor.

 

7.      Gabriel D. Nelson – 08CR0382.  (Murder, Assault 2nd Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree [2 Counts], Reckless Driving, Speeding >26 MPH Over, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Nelson (DOB 5/10/76) is charged in connection with the January 22, 2008 crash on Taylor Boulevard which resulted in the death of Latonia Mitchell.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, March 7, Division 3, at 10:00 A.M.  Chris Hutchison and Nick Neumann are the prosecutors.

 

 

TRIAL

 

1.      Richard Johnson – 07CR1500.  (Rape 2nd Degree, Sodomy 2nd Degree)  Mr. Johnson (DOB 1/26/68), a Metro Corrections Sergeant, is charged in connection with the abuse of two juvenile female victims.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, Division 6, at 9:30 A.M.  Cheryl Robinson is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Ebonie Yvette Phillips (DOB 12/23/81) / Robert G. Thomas, Jr. (DOB 8/1/82) – 07CR3370.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  The defendants are charged in connection with the October 2, 2007 shooting death of Charles Mitchell, III in the parking lot of the St. Andrews Park apartment complex in the 6900 block of Brooklawn Drive.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, Division 2, at 9:45 A.M.  Michelle Grant Rudovich is the prosecutor.

 

3.      Tyrus Lamont Harvey – 05CR3358. (Robbery 1st Degree [10 Counts], Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Escape 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Harvey (DOB 9/9/69) is charged in connection with the armed robbery of numerous businesses throughout Jefferson County.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, Division 10, at 10:00 A.M.  Kristi Gray is the prosecutor.

 

4.      Charles Anthony Thompson, III – 07CR3653.  (Murder)  Mr. Thompson (DOB 12/9/85) is charged in connection with the September 30, 2007 shooting death of Bryant Watson outside the City View Park Apartments in Esquire Alley.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, March 6, Division 2, at 9:30 A.M.  Ruth Lerner is the prosecutor.
