ARRAIGNMENTS

 

  1. Juan Kessea Berry – 07CR0558.  (Sodomy 1st Degree, Sexual Abuse 1st Degree)  Mr. Berry (DOB 11/10/71) is charged in connection with the January 30, 2007 abuse of a 14 year old male Meyzeek Middle School student as the victim exited a bus at the intersection of Preston and Broadway streets.  Arraignment has already occurred.  A Pre-Trial Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 13, Division 7, at 9:00 A.M.  Dorislee Gilbert is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Marcus Deshon Fresh – 07CR0577.  (Murder, Retaliating Against a Participant in the Legal Process)  Mr. Fresh (DOB 9/6/84) is charged in connection with the February 1, 2007 shooting death of Edrisha Reed on Tuscarora Way in the Iroquois Homes housing complex.  Arraignment has already occurred.  A Pre-Trial Hearing is scheduled for Friday, March 30, Division 4, at 9:30 A.M.  Christie Foster is the prosecutor.

 

  

HEARING

 

  1. Shaheed A. Aluqdah – 06CR2610.  (Murder, Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree)  Mr. Aluqdah (DOB 7/10/80) is charged in connection with the June 3, 2006 shooting death of Terrell Cherry in the 2200 block of Humler Street.  A Competency Hearing is scheduled for Monday, February 19, Division 3, at 1:00 P.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Cecil E. Geron – 06CR1764.  (Murder)  Mr. Geron (DOB 10/28/76) is charged in connection with the May 24, 2006 beating death of Kristopher McGary in the alley in the 900 block of Beecher Street.  The case is scheduled for Motion Hour on Monday, February 19, Division 10, at 2:00 P.M.  Rick Taylor is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Kenneth S. Kurz – 06CR3526.  (Murder, Knowing Abuse or Neglect of an Adult by a Caretaker)  Mr. Kurz (DOB 7/31/56) is charged in connection with the death of his mother, Susanna Kurz, at their home in the St. Matthews area.  A Competency Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, February 22, Division 5, at 1:30 P.M.  Todd Lewis is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Jerry Wayne Sandlin – 06CR0062.  (Murder, Rape 1st Degree)  Mr. Sandlin (DOB 12/2/69) is charged in connection with the April 1991 rape and strangulation death of Katherine Swan whose body was found near Chestnut Street and Baxter Avenue.  A Hearing is scheduled for Friday, February 23, Division 9, at 8:15 A.M.  David Lewis is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Heather Lea McCarty – 05CR2552.  (Murder, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Illegal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia)  Ms. McCarty (DOB 11/6/79) is charged in connection with the July 7, 2005 death of Charles Barfield.  Mr. Barfield was struck by an automobile while riding his bicycle on Bardstown Rd.  A Hearing is scheduled for Friday, February 23, Division 6, at 8:45 A.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Averic Bizor (DOB 8/16/86) / Overson C. Jackson, IV (DOB 10/19/87) / Deshawn Moffett (DOB 4/15/84) / Donnie L. Nelson (DOB 10/21/86) / Thomas R. Williams (DOB 10/10/85) – 05CR2022 & 05CR2608.  The defendants are charged with numerous counts involving incidents of rape, kidnapping, robbery and burglary occurring from February through May 2005 throughout Jefferson County.  Mr. Overson is also charged in connection with the April 11, 2005 shooting death of Brandon L. White.  A Hearing is scheduled for Friday, February 23, Division 4, at 9:00 A.M.  Scott Davis and Khalid Kahloon are the prosecutors.

 

  1. Blake A. Daniels (DOB 6/27/86) / Carlos V. Daniels (DOB 4/2/85) / Andre E. Fant (DOB 4/8/85) / Carlas B. Halcomb (DOB 2/14/84) / Prentice T. Leavel, III (DOB 4/22/86) – 06CR0214.  The defendants are charged with numerous counts involving incidents of robbery and burglary occurring from February through May 2005 throughout Jefferson County.  A Hearing is scheduled for Friday, February 23, Division 4, at 9:00 A.M.  Scott Davis and Khalid Kahloon are the prosecutors.

 

PRE - TRIAL CONFERENCE

 

1.      Ronda L. Ferrell – 06CR3650.  (Knowing Abuse or Neglect of an Adult, Assault 1st Degree)  Ms. Ferrell (DOB 11/20/62) is charged in connection with the abuse of her 19 year old daughter, who has cerebral palsy.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, February 19, Division 10, at 9:15 A.M.  Todd Lewis is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Justin Brandon Lewis – 06CR3546.  (Murder)  Mr. Lewis (DOB 7/7/85) is charged in connection with the October 23, 2006 shooting death of Brittney Dunn in the 400 block of Marret Avenue.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, February 19, Division 10, at1:45 P.M.  Katherine Kingren is the prosecutor.

 

3.      Nelson T. Little – 06CR3651.  (Murder)  Mr. Little (DOB 12/15/83) is charged in connection with the November 7, 2006 beating death of Linda Hamill.  The incident took place at an apartment on Beuchel Bank Road.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, February 20, Division 3, at 8:45 A.M.  Christie Foster is the prosecutor.

 

4.      Donta L. Jones – 07CR0198.  (Murder, Assault 1st Degree [7 Counts], Robbery 2nd Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police, Criminal Mischief, Operating a Motor Vehicle by Person with Revoked Operator’s License, Disregarding Traffic Control Devise)  Mr. Jones (DOB 7/3/86) is charged in connection with the January 6, 2007 crash at First and Breckinridge streets which resulted in the death of 11 year old Demetra Boyd and injured 6 other people.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, February 20, Division 8, at 9:15 A.M.  David Lewis is the prosecutor.
