ARRAIGNMENTS

 

  1. David Jason Stinson – 09CR0207.  (Reckless Homicide)  Mr. Stinson (DOB 9/16/72) is charged in connection with the August 23, 2008 death of Max Gilpin who collapsed at an August 20, 2008 football practice at Pleasure Ridge Park High School.  Arraignment is scheduled for Monday, January 26, Division 12, at 3:00 P.M.  David Stengel is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Michael L. Knights (DOB 11/9/79) / Jeston Edward Murray (DOB 2/12/82) – 09CR0199.  (Murder [2 Counts], Robbery 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence [2 Counts])  The defendants are charged in connection with the December 27, 2008 beating death of Darrell Spencer at a store in the 600 block of W. Main St. and the January 4, 2009 stabbing death of Marcus Penny at an apartment at 3640 Manslick Road.  Arraignment has already occurred.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, Division 12, at 9:00 A.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.

 

 

HEARING

 

  1. James Simpson – 08CR1785.  (Murder)  Mr. Simpson (DOB 10/1/68) is charged in connection with the September 10, 2007 shooting death of his wife, Katherine Simpson, at their home in Middletown.  A Hearing is scheduled for Monday, January 26, Division 7, at 9:00 A.M.  Nick Neumann is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Glenda L. Graves – 09CR0006.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Ms. Graves (DOB 8/7/54) is charged in connection with the December 28, 2008 stabbing death of Norman Williams who was found in a Beecher Terrace apartment in the 400 block of South 12th Street.  A Bond Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, Division 13, at 8:45 A.M.  Michelle Rudovich is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Carlos Lamont Ordway – 07CR3193.  (Robbery 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree [2 Counts], Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Ordway (DOB 6/21/81) is charged in connection with the August 6, 2007 robbery of the Chase Bank in the 4000 block of Poplar Level Road.  Two bank employees were wounded during the robbery.  A Status Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, Division 2, at 9:45 A.M.  Jennifer Wilcox is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Irvin Kareem Arnold – 07CR1306.  (Murder, Assault 1st Degree [2 Counts], Theft by Unlawful Taking, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police)  Mr. Arnold (DOB 3/31/88) is charged in connection with the March 27, 2007 shooting death of Rashad McGinnis near Dixie Highway and Ormsby Avenue.  A Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, Division 3, at 10:00 A.M.  Jennifer Wilcox is the prosecutor.

 

  1. Kenneth L. Roberson – 07CR2092.  (Murder, Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Roberson (DOB 6/26/61) is charged in connection with the June 8, 2007 death of Keith Mario Reed, Jr. at 24th and Madison streets.  A Suppression Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, Division 7, at 2:00 P.M.  Artie McLaughlin is the prosecutor.

 

 

PRE - TRIAL CONFERENCE

 

1.      Martell D. Bennett – 08CR1148.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Intimidating a Participant in the Legal Process, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Bennett (DOB 1/1/83) is charged in connection with the November 1, 2007 shooting death of Trey Weathers in the front yard of a home in the 800 block of 40th Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, January 26, Division 13, at 10:30 A.M.  Nick Neuman is the prosecutor.

 

2.      Keithen Lamont Gaines (DOB 9/28/77) / Kevin Dewayne Gaines (9/28/77) – 08CR2702 & 08CR3445.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence; KEITHEN  Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon)  The defendants are charged in connection with the September 7, 2008 shooting death of Moshawn White in the 700 block of South 24th Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Monday, January 26, Division 8, at 2:30 P.M.  Frank Dahl is the prosecutor.

 

3.      Aaron M. Nash – 08CR2030.  (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Nash (DOB 11/30/90) is charged in connection with the May 1, 2008 shooting death of Saige Hartman at the Red Oak Apartments in the 8500 block of Standing Oak Drive off Dixie Highway.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, Division 11, at 10:00 A.M.  Nick Neumann is the prosecutor.

 

4.      Henry J. Crawford, Jr. – 07CR0418.  (Kidnapping, Rape 1st Degree, Sodomy 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree, Robbery 1st Degree, Burglary 1st Degree, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree)  Mr. Crawford (DOB 11/6/64) is charged in connection with an October 16, 1990 robbery and sexual attack occurring on Jane Street and involving a female victim.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, January 28, Division 6, at 9:00 A.M.  Ryane Conroy is the prosecutor.

 

5.      Brandon Scott Jones – 08CR3264.  (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence)  Mr. Jones (DOB 9/22/88) is charged in connection with the October 27, 2008 stabbing death of Sharon R. Jones in an apartment in the 1700 block of Belmar Drive.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, Division 12, at 9:00 A.M.  Michelle Rudovich is the prosecutor.

 

6.      Adam Anthony Barker – 07CR0691.  (Murder, Criminal Attempted Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence [2 Counts], Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree)  Mr. Barker (DOB 11/13/81) is charged in connection with the October 12, 2003 shooting death of Zachary Scarpellini in the 1200 block of Cherokee Road at Longest Road.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, January 30, Division 6, at 10:00 A.M.  Tom Van De Rostyne is the prosecutor.

 

7.      Percy D. Brown – 08CR3710.  (Murder, Sodomy 1st Degree, Intimidating a Participant in the Legal Process [2 Counts])  Mr. Brown (DOB 8/29/63) is charged in connection with the September 16, 2004 shooting death of Jennifer French at a home in the 2600 block of West Market Street.  A Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for Friday, January 30, Division 11, at 10:00 A.M.  Erin White is the prosecutor.

 

 

TRIAL

 

  1. Francois L. Cunningham – 05CR3713.  (Murder [2 Counts], Arson 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree)  Mr. Cunningham (DOB 8/6/77) is charged in connection with the October 12, 2005 shooting deaths of Trevor Alexander and Tykea Sanderson in Fern Creek Park.  A Trial is tentatively scheduled for Friday, January 30, Division 10, at 10:00 A.M.  Ryane Conroy is the prosecutor.

 

 

SENTENCING

 

1.      Joseph W. Locke (DOB 3/31/89) / Robert L. Morris (DOB 10/11/85) / Kerron L. Slaughter (DOB 1/31/88) – 07CR3527.  Mr. Locke pleaded guilty to Manslaughter 1st Degree, Trafficking in a Controlled Substance and all 3 defendants pleaded guilty to Tampering with Physical Evidence in connection with the October 19, 2007 shooting death of Michael Shields whose body was found in an alley off the 400 block of Amy Avenue.  Sentencing is scheduled for Monday, January 26, Division 6, at 9:15 A.M.  Mark Baker is the prosecutor.
