According to the Rules of Criminal Procedure (RCr 3.02, 3.05, and 8.01), the arraignment of individuals whose case has been submitted directly to the grand jury shall take place within a reasonable time after the return of an indictment. If you are interested in a case that has been submitted directly to the grand jury, then please contact the court division in which it has been assigned to obtain the time and date of the arraignment.
Demetri Macklin – 19CR2114 (Robbery in the First Degree [8 counts], Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon [6 counts], Persistent Felony Offender in the First Degree)
- Between May 8, 2019 and July 25, 2019, Mr. Macklin (DOB 07/10/72) committed armed robberies at six different businesses across Jefferson County. Mr. Macklin used a distinctive blue handgun in each of these robberies. Upon his arrest, Mr. Macklin admitted to committing three of the robberies. At the time of these incidents, Mr. Macklin was on unsupervised parole for having committed 15 armed robberies previously. Mr. Macklin was arraigned on August 1, 2019. His first Pre-Trial Conference is scheduled for September 11, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. in Division 13 of Jefferson Circuit Court. Emily Lantz is the prosecutor.
Charles A. Webb – 18CR2097 (Assault in the Second Degree, Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree, Terroristic Threatening in the Third Degree)
- Mr. Webb (DOB 07/18/58) is charged with the May 27, 2018 Assault and strangulation of his wife. On May 15, 2019, Mr. Webb entered a guilty plea to the above charges and formal sentencing is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. in Division 2 of Jefferson Circuit Court. Madison Shoffner is the prosecutor.
Shilo Joseph – 18CR3099 (Murder, Burglary in the First Degree)
- Mr. Joseph (DOB 12/21/81) is charged in connection with a home invasion that occurred on October 14, 2018. Mr. Joseph broke into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment located at 9614 Westport Road. Antonio Starks interrupted him while inside the apartment. During a brief physical altercation, Mr. Joseph stabbed the victim one time in the chest, causing his death. A Jury Trial is scheduled to begin on August 5, 2019 and 9:30 a.m. in Division 8 of Jefferson Circuit Court. Doug Meisel and Peter Lovett are the prosecutors.
