According to the Rules of Criminal Procedure (RCr 3.02, 3.05, and 8.01), the arraignment of individuals whose case has been submitted directly to the grand jury shall take place within a reasonable time after the return of an indictment. If you are interested in a case that has been submitted directly to the grand jury, then please contact the court division in which it has been assigned to obtain the time and date of the arraignment.

SIGNIFICANT EVENTS (Past Week)

Quinn Chandler – 14CR2937, 15CR0953 (Murder, Robbery in the First Degree, Burglary in the First Degree)

  • Mr. Chandler (DOB 07/07/22) was convicted at jury trial of Robbery in the 1st Degree, Burglary in the 1st Degree, and Reckless Homicide in connection for a home invasion robbery he committed on November 5, 2013. During the robbery, the victim, Carey Bush, was strangled to death at his home on 4148 Hickman Ave. After the jury verdict the penalty phase was settled for 22 years.  The Sentencing will occur on March 14, 2016 at 9:00 in Jefferson County Circuit Court Division 8.  Elizabeth Jones Brown and Critt Cunningham are the prosecutors.

PRETRIAL CONFERENCES

Derek Roark – 15CR2875 (Tampering with Physical Evidence, Abuse of a Corpse, Persistent Felony Offender in the First Degree)

  • Mr. Roark (DOB 10/15/76) is charged with placing the body of Jeffrey Kingdon (DOB 11/30/59) in a box he built for that purpose, and then dumping the box containing Mr. Kingdon’s body in an uninhabited wooded area near South Park Road, sometime between October 10 and October 13, 2015.  A pretrial conference is scheduled for Friday, February 5, 2016, at 9:15 a.m. in Division 2 of Jefferson Circuit Court.  Elizabeth Jones Brown is the prosecutor.

Carlos Beauchamp, Jaquae Sanders, & Luretta Lynn Todd – 14CR1561 (Complicity to Murder [All], Possession of a Handgun by Convicted Felon [Beauchamp Only])

  • Mr. Beauchamp (DOB 5/12/81), Mr. Sanders (DOB 9/21/93), and Ms. Todd (DOB 3/19/85) are charged in connection with the June 3, 2014,  shooting death of Keith Lane in the 1100 block of South 8th Street.  A Pretrial Conference is scheduled for Friday, February 5 at 9:45 a.m. in Division 5 of Jefferson Circuit Court.  Jennifer Murzyn Yancey and Stacy Grieve are the prosecutors.

Allison Moseley- 15CR2159 (Murder, Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree [Two Counts], Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Intoxicants)

  • Ms. Moseley (DOB 10/12/93) has been indicted in relation to a collision that occurred on I-264 on June 21, 2015 that resulted in the death of Cody Beard.  A pretrial conference has been scheduled for Monday, February 1 at 9:00 a.m.in Division 10.  Kristi Gray is the prosecutor.

Nathan Doss- 14CR2604 (Manslaughter in the Second Degree [Three Counts], Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree [Three Counts], Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, Persistent Felony Offender in the First Degree)

  • Mr. Doss (DOB 9/25/81) has been indicted for causing a collision at the intersection of Lower Hunters Trace and Greenbelt Highway on September 28, 2014, that resulted in the deaths of Gary Miller, Heather Smith and Stevie Smith, and created a danger of death or serious physical injury to other drivers.   A pretrial conference is scheduled for February 2 at 9:30 a.m. in Division 6.  Kristi Gray is the prosecutor.

Antwan Tinker, 15 CR 0029 (Rape in the First Degree [Four Counts], Sodomy in the First Degree [Two Counts]), Robbery in the First Degree, Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree, Assault 4th, Persistent Felony Offender in the First Degree)

  • Mr. Tinker (DOB: 10/05/82) is charged with a series of forcible rapes and sodomies of multiple victims, committed inside his creepy van over a two month period in the Old Louisville and South Louisville/Churchill Downs areas. A hearing on pretrial motions and the defendant’s motion for bond reduction is scheduled for Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. in Division Twelve. Erin McKenzie is the prosecutor.

Cornelius Miller- 15CR2387 (Rape in the First Degree [Two Counts], Persistent Felony Offender in the First Degree)

  • Mr. Miller (DOB 4/8/59) has been indicted for two sexual assaults that occurred on August 21, 2015 at Louisville Memorial Gardens Cemetery and on September 1, 2015 at Bethany Lane Cemetery.  A pretrial conference is scheduled for February 3, 2016 at 10:15 a.m. in Division 5.   Kristi Gray is the prosecutor.

HEARINGS

Edward Raymond Baker III and Danielle Elizabeth Boucher- 15CR1735 (Torture of a Dog with Serious Physical Injury or Death [Six Counts])

  • Mr. Baker (DOB 3/22/93) and Ms. Boucher (DOB 5/29/89) are charged in connection with the deaths of five dogs and the serious physical injury to another. A hearing is scheduled for Thursday, February 4, at 10:00 a.m. in Division Six of the Jefferson Circuit Court. Ryan W. Becker is the prosecutor.

TRIALS

Decoco Blincoe – 14CR2695 (Robbery in the First Degree [Three Counts]), Burglary in the First Degree, Fleeing or Evading Police in the First Degree, and Tampering with Physical Evidence)

  • On August 15, 2014, defendants Decoco Blincoe (DOB 05/11/95) and Terrence Towns (DOB 12/12/95) unlawfully entered 3509 Grand Avenue. Blincoe was armed with a shotgun and Towns was armed with a handgun.  They robbed a bedridden quadriplegic man of $2,000 and another man of a cell phone.  On August 22, 2014, at 1763 Dumnesnil Street in Jefferson County, Kentucky, defendant Blincoe robbed a man of $350 with a shotgun.  On August 26, 2014, defendant Blincoe was in possession of a shotgun in his waist band which he threw when police approached.  He fled through a fenced-in yard and was arrested in the 100 block of N. 20th Street. The shotgun had the buttstock and barrel sawed down.  Jury trial is scheduled for February 2, 2016 at 9:30 am in Division 9 of Jefferson Circuit Court.  Alex Gaddis and Justin Janes are the prosecutors.

Deveron Shively – 14CR0117 (Criminal Attempt Murder, Robbery in the First Degree, and Possession of a Handgun by Convicted Felon)

  • Mr. Shively (DOB 3/27/91), is charged with the December 20, 2013, robbery and attempted murder of Misty Shirley near Darnton Lane.  The defendant shot her multiple times and fled the scene taking her cell phone.  A Trial is scheduled to begin on Monday, February 1, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. in Division 3 of Jefferson Circuit Court. Jennifer Murzyn Yancey is the prosecutor.

Leslee E. Wagner – 15CR0036 (Perjury in the First Degree)

  • LMPD Officer Wagner (DOB 9/19/80) is charged with perjury in connection with her  January 9, 2014, Jefferson County Grand Jury testimony against Adam J. Hannahs. The Commonwealth contends that a video recording revealed Officer Wagner did not testify truthfully to the facts surrounding Mr. Hannahs’ case. Officer Leslee Wagner was the only witness to testify before the grand jury and the indictment of Mr. Hannahs is believed to have been based on her false and misleading testimony.  Trial is set on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at 9:30 A.M. in Division 9. The case was previously tried in August of 2015, and the jury was unable to reach a verdict. Emily Cecil and Critt Cunningham are the prosecutors.

 

Eugene Baker -12cr3691 (Murder, Robbery 1st Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon [Baker only])

  • Mr. Baker (DOB 3/15/85)  is charged with entering the apartment of the victim, Dominic Hudson at the Brookview Apartment Complex off of St. Andrews Church Road on August 25, 2007. Baker then shot him in the back of the head causing Hudson’s death. The defendant then removed an undetermined amount of marijuana and cash from the apartment and fled by vehicle. He then disposed of the handgun used to commit the crime. A jury in January of this year previously hung as to his guilt. Trial is set on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at 10:00 A.M. in Division 11. The case was previously tried in January of 2015, and the jury was unable to reach a verdict. Nick Mudd and Shelly Alvey are the prosecutors.

Wright – 16CR0147 (Criminal Syndication, Engaging in Organized Crime [All]; Aggravated Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree Schedule I Heroin One Hundred Grams or More [All]; Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree Schedule II Methamphetamine Two Grams or More [Barta, Chapman, Stice, Veatch and Wright]; Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree Schedule I Heroin Two Grams or More [Stice and Veatch]; Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree Schedule I Heroin Less Than Two Grams [Stice and Veatch]; Trafficking in a Controlled Substance in the First Degree Schedule II Oxymorphone Less Than Ten Dosage Units [Stice and Veatch];   Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree Schedule I Heroin Less Than Two Grams [Barta and Wright]; Tampering with Physical Evidence [Barta, Chapman and Wright] and Illegal Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [Barta, Stice, Veatch and Wright]).

  • The defendants Barta (DOB 7/24/81), Chapman (DOB 12/12/84), Redfern (DOB 1/18/66), Stice (DOB 7/24/85), Veatch (DOB 9/16/74) and Wright (DOB 5/27/79) are charged with selling and providing large amounts of heroin and methamphetamine in the community, evidence of which was discovered during the execution of two separate search warrants of residences of the defendants.  In addition to possessing and selling large amounts of controlled substances , the defendant possessed drug paraphernalia and other items.  The defendants are scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. in Division 9 of Jefferson Circuit Court.   Andrew Beckman is the prosecutor.

Ian Matthew Cary – 16CR0149 (Robbery in the First Degree, Assault in the Third Degree [Police/Probation Officer] and Resisting Arrest).

  • Mr. Cary (4/6/78) is charged with robbing the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market locatedat5360 Dixie Highway on January 17, 2016 and with assaulting off-duty LMPD police officer Russell Miller who stepped in to arrest him as he fled the store. The defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 20:30 p.m. in Division 11 of Jefferson Circuit Court.  Milja Zgonjanin is the prosecutor.

PRETRIAL CONFERENCES

Quincinio Canada and Dawan Mulazim – 14CR2064/15CR2029 (Robbery in the First Degree [two counts], Fleeing or Evading Police in the First Degree, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon, Persistent Felony Offender I [all charges apply to both defendants])

  • Mr. Canada (DOB 3/4/92) and Mr. Mulazim (8/14/83) are charged with robbing a Circle K employee and the man buffing the floors after-hours at the Circle K at 1000 Portland Avenue on July 25, 2014.  Officer Ed Johnson was at the intersection of Portland Avenue and 22nd Street, and was able to follow the get-away vehicle, in which the defendants fled from Officer Johnson into Indiana where they were apprehended.  The two defendants have also been charged with a series of robberies in Lexington, one of which resulted in a murder, all currently pending in Fayette County Circuit Court, and which took place in the weeks leading up to their apprehension on this Jefferson County case.  A final pretrial conference is scheduled for January 25th at 9:30 a.m. in Division 13 of the Jefferson Circuit Court.  Elizabeth Jones Brown is the prosecutor.

John McLeaney – 15CR3211 (2 counts of Robbery in the First Degree, Kidnapping, Burglary in the First Degree, Impersonating a Peace Officer, Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, Unlawful Imprisonment in the First Degree, Intimidating a Participant in the Legal Process, Tampering With Physical Evidence, and Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree)

  • Mr. McLeaney  (DOB 10/11/69) has been indicted for offenses occurring on November9, 2015, and November 28, 2015.    A pretrial conference is scheduled for January 26, 2016 at 9:45 a.m. in Division 10 of Jefferson Circuit Court.   Kristi Gray is the prosecutor.

Kalief A. Cummings- 15CR2303 (Assault in the First Degree [Two Counts])

  • Mr. Cummings (DOB 12/11/69) is charged with stabbing two sisters who were in town for a bachelorette party.  The incident occurred on August 23, 2015, near Second and Liberty Streets.  A pretrial conference is scheduled for January 29th  at 9:30 in Division 13 of Jefferson Circuit Court.  Elizabeth Jones Brown is the prosecutor.

Andrew Z. McAllister, Austin S. Priddy, and Carmon A. Tussey – 15CR2042   (Complicity to Murder [All], Complicity to Robbery in the First Degree [All], Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree [Priddy only] and Tampering With Physical Evidence [Priddy and Tussey])

  • Mr. McAllister (DOB 04/27/95), Mr. Priddy (DOB 11-07-95) and Mr. Tussey (DOB 02/08/96) are charged in connection with the July 16, 2015 killing of Mr. Miguel Macias at the Mall Gate Apartments in St. Matthews.   A pretrial conference is scheduled for Friday, January 29, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. in Division One of Jefferson Circuit Court.   Stacy Greive and Shelley Alvey are the prosecutors.

HEARINGS

Myliek First – 14CR0515 (Murder, Assault I, Robbery I, TWPE) 

  • Mr. First (DOB 9/19/96) is charged in connection with the October 3, 2013 killing of Tony Grady and the assault of Lashayna James.  A suppression hearing is scheduled for Thursday, January 28, 2016, at 9:30 a.m in Division 2 of Jefferson Circuit Court.  Stacy Greive and Jeff Cooke are the assigned prosecutors.

TRIALS

SIGNIFICANT EVENTS (Past Week)

Jarrod Weiss – 14CR2387 (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)

  • Mr. Weiss was convicted at jury trial in Jefferson County Circuit Court Division 3 for the 2011 murder of Tanner Browning and tampering with physical evidence in connection with the crime. After reaching a finding of guilty earlier in the week, the jury on Friday, January, 15, 2016 concluded the penalty phase of the trial by recommending a sentence of 30 years. The defendant was represented by Rob Eggert. The Commonwealth was represented by Nick Mudd and Jeff Cooke.

Derek Roark – 15CR2875 (Tampering with Physical Evidence, Abuse of a Corpse, Persistent Felony Offender in the First Degree)

Ronald Bullitt Jr., – 16CR0126 (Rape 1 [Two Counts], Assault I, Unlawful Imprisonment I, Tampering with Physical Evidence)

  • Mr. Bullitt (DOB 11/12/90) was arraigned on Friday, January 15, 2016 in connection with a June 9, 2015 attack near the 1700 block of St. Louis Ave. The victim was held against her will and raped multiple times.  Mr. Bullitt was at the time, a registered sexual offender from the state of Georgia. The defendant’s bond currently stands $250,000.  He will appear for pretrial in Jefferson County Circuit Court Division 12 on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 9:15 am. Critt Cunningham is the prosecutor.

ARRAIGNMENTS

Christopher Beverly – 16CR0104 (Assault I).

  • Mr. Beverly (DOB 12/29/66) was indicted on January 13, 2016 by the Jefferson County Grand Jury for his involvement in an assault on November 20, 2015, which caused life threatening injuries including brain swelling and bleeding. Beverly was arrested at the scene. Mr. Beverly will appear for arraignment in Jefferson County Circuit Court Division 3 on Tuesday, January 19, 2015 at 9:30 am. The Commonwealth will also be addressing a motion for increased bond on the defendant. Joshua Waldrop is the prosecutor.

Jasmine Wade- 16CR0127 (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Abuse of a Corpse]).

  • Ms. Wade (DOB 1/4/2000) is charged with intentionally causing the death of her new-born baby girl. Ms. Wade will appear for arraignment on January 21, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. in Division 11 of the Circuit Court. Nathan Ray Batey II is the prosecutor.

PRETRIAL CONFERENCES

Deontae D. Yarnell – 15CR2214 (Murder)

  • Mr. Yarnell (DOB 7/23/93), is charged with the August 8, 2015, shooting death of Mr. Deandre Murphy near 5241 Halsey Court. A Pretrial Conference is scheduled for Friday, January 22, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. in Division 3 of Jefferson Circuit Court. Jennifer Murzyn Yancey is the prosecutor.

Larry Wayne Lewis – 15CR1350 (Rape in the First Degree [Seven Counts], Sexual Abuse in the First Degree [Two Counts], Sodomy in the First Degree [Four Counts], Unlawful Transaction with a Minor in the First Degree [Two Counts], Incest [Seven Counts], Use of a Minor in a Sexual Performance [Two Counts], Criminal Attempt Sodomy in the First Degree, and Distribution of Obscene Matter to Minors [Two Counts])

  • Mr. Lewis (DOB 2/11/49) is charged for sex offenses in relation to minor children. Mr. Lewis is to appear on January 20, 2016 at 8:30 A.M. in Division Seven of the Jefferson Circuit Court for a Pre-Trial Conference. Nathan Ray Batey II is the prosecutor.

Carlos Stone- 15CR2670 (Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence)

  • Mr. Stone (DOB 01/04/77) is charged in connection with the September 29, 2015, shooting death of Annquonette Starr. A pretrial conference is scheduled for Wednesday, January 20, at 9:00 a.m. in Division 10 of Jefferson Circuit Court.  Alicia Gomez is the prosecutor.

David T. Satterfield, Jr. – 14CR0326 (Murder)

  • Mr. Satterfield (DOB 12/28/79) is charged in connection with the August 6, 2007, death of Ms. Marcelline Vale at the Parkway Medical Center. A pretrial conference is scheduled for Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. in Division Nine of the Jefferson Circuit Court.  Ryan Olberding is the prosecutor.

Christopher L. McCullum – 15CR0968 (Murder, Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence)

  • Mr. McCullum (DOB 2/21/72) is charged in connection with the February 21, 2015, shooting death of Mukhtar Ahmad on I-71. A pre-trial conference is scheduled on Friday, January 22, 2016, at 8:30 a.m. in Division Seven of the Jefferson Circuit Court.  Ryan Olberding is the prosecutor.

Bradley Hanlon, 15CR3173 (Murder)

  • Mr. Hanlon (DOB 9/5/84), is charged in connection with the September 25, 2015 death of a 21-month old child left in his care.  A pre-trial conference is scheduled for Friday, January 22, 2016 at 9:30 am in Div. 12.  Christie Foster is the prosecutor.

Gregory Childs and Emily Childs- 14CR2062   (Rape I [Mr. Childs Only], Sexual Abuse I [Both], Rape II [Both], Sodomy II [Both], and Unlawful Transaction with a Minor III [Mr. Childs Only])

  • Mr. Childs (DOB 9/28/84) is charged with Rape I, Sexual Abuse I, three counts of Rape II, three counts of Sodomy II, and Unlawful Transaction with a Minor III, for a relationship with a minor child between 2008 and 2010.  Ms. Childs (DOB 5/15/87) is charged with two counts of Rape II, three counts of Sodomy II, and one counts of Sexual Abuse I for relationship with the same minor child.  A pre-trial conference is scheduled for Thursday, January 21st at 9:15 am in Div. 2.  Christie Foster is the prosecutor.

 

HEARINGS

 Paula Oppel – 14CR1775 (Manslaughter, Failure to Render Aid)

  • The defendant was convicted of manslaughter in the second degree, failure to render aid and DUI for a collision on July 3, 2014 that killed tow truck driver Jewan Turner.   The defendant was sentenced to 12 years on May 20, 2015, and has filed a motion requesting shock probation.  A hearing on the defendant’s motion for shock probation is scheduled on Jan 19, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. in division 10.  Kristi Gray is the prosecutor.

Edward Armstrong – 12CR1033 (Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition Over $10,000)

  • Mr. Armstrong (DOB 2/29/60) is charged in connection with making fraudulent representations that he would construct a building for Mr. Michael Brown and intentionally failing to complete the work or return funds to the victim after receiving and negotiating two checks totaling $16,000. This is alleged to have occurred between November 1, 2010, and March 7, 2011.  A restitution hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at 9:45 a.m. in Division Seven of the Jefferson Circuit Court. Mr. Ryan Olberding is the prosecutor.

 

TRIALS

Quinn Chandler- 14CR2937 (Murder I, Robbery I, Burglary I [Complicity])

  • Mr. Chandler (DOB 7/7/92) is charged with strangling Carey Bush to death in his home, then stealing his cell phone and vehicle before fleeing the scene along with an un-identified accomplice known only by the less than common nickname “Slizzy”.  The offense occurred November 5, 2013.  A jury trial is scheduled to begin January 19, 2016, in Division 8.  Elizabeth Jones Brown and Critt Cunningham are the prosecutors.
