SIGNIFICANT EVENTS (Past week)
Kyle T. Nunn – 14CR0584 (Theft By Deception Over $500 But Less Than $10,000 (2 counts), Forgery in the Second Degree, Theft of Identity and Persistent Felony Offender in the Second Degree)
Mr. Nunn (DOB 06/05/83) was sentenced to ten years in prison on October 14, 2015 in Division 7 of Jefferson Circuit Court. Nunn had previously entered a guilty plea to theft and forgery charges arising out of his setting up a fake benefit concert to be performed by country music artist Jason Aldean for Addie’s Army, a foundation established for the benefit of a local leukemia victim. Nunn paid $13,700.00 in restitution to the victim at sentencing. Steve Blandford was the prosecutor.
Stephanie Adams – 14CR2205 (Criminal Abuse in the First Degree-2 counts)
Ms. Adams (DOB 06/04/89) pled guilty on October 15, 2015 to two counts of Criminal Abuse I-2 counts for events involving her two minor twins who were at the time thirteen months old. Ms. Adams failed to provide adequate nourishment and medical care for the children. One child was classified as near fatal when admitted to Kosair Children’s Hospital and weighed only eleven pounds at thirteen months old. Ms. Adams received a six year prison sentence on each count to run concurrently for a total six year sentence and waived separate sentencing. The case was held in Division 12 of Jefferson Circuit Court. Nathan Batey was the prosecutor.
Daniel L. Colvin – 15CR2729 (Assault in the Second Degree and Criminal Abuse in the First Degree)
Mr. Colvin (DOB 08/18/88) is charged with injuring his two month old infant. The infant was found to have two lacerations to her head, a fractured skull, and several broken ribs when taken to the hospital on August 20, 2015. His arraignment is scheduled for Monday, October 19, 2015 at 2:30 in Division 11 of Jefferson Circuit Court. Courtney Straw is the prosecutor.
Gemehr Murphy – 15CR2711 (Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree (8 counts), Tampering with Physical Evidence, Criminal Mischief in the First Degree and Possession of a Handgun by a Minor)
Mr. Murphy (DOB 01/18/99) is charged in connection with a volley of gunfire that struck three separate motor vehicles in the area of Wilson and Algonquin Avenues on July 30, 2015. His arraignment is scheduled for Monday, October 19, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. in Division 9 of Jefferson Circuit Court. Elizabeth Jones Brown is the prosecutor.
Allison Moseley- 15CR2159 (Murder, Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree (2 counts) and Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Intoxicants)
Ms. Moseley (DOB 10/12/1993) has been indicted in relation to a collision that occurred on I-264 on June 21, 2015 that resulted in the death of Cody Beard. A pretrial conference has been scheduled for October 19, 2015 at 9:15 a.m. in Division 10 of Jefferson Circuit Court. Kristi Gray is the prosecutor.
Alvino Cornelius and Tamara Sherley – 15CR2298 (Robbery in the First Degree [both] and Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree (3 counts)[Cornelius])
Mr. Cornelius (DOB 11/21/94) and Ms. Sherley (DOB 05/10/76) are alleged to have entered an apartment located at 403 S. 38th Street through an open window. Once inside they demanded money and stated their intention to take property. Defendant Cornelius fired 5 or 6 shots into the bedroom where three family members had barricaded themselves behind a door. The victims moved the next day. A pretrial conference is scheduled for Monday, October 19, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in Division 12 of Jefferson Circuit Court. Critt Cunningham is the prosecutor.
James O’Bannon – 14CR0776 (Murder, Assault in the First Degree (3 counts), Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 2nd offense, Possession of Marijuana, No Insurance and Persistent Felony Offender First Degree)
Mr. O’Bannon (DOB 02/18/1963) is charged in relation to a fatal collision that occurred on March 14, 2014, which resulted in the death of 5-month old Ivani Ingram, and caused serious injuries to other passengers in the vehicle. This matter is scheduled for a jury trial on October 19, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. in Division 8 of Jefferson Circuit Court. Kristi Gray is the prosecutor.
Joseph Mitchell Carter and Sammy Douglas Gibson – 14CR0742 (Complicity to Murder, Complicity to Burglary in the Second Degree, Complicity to Tampering with Physical Evidence)
Mr. Carter (DOB 06/20/85) and Mr. Gibson (DOB 01/30/86) are charged in relation to the March 5, 2014 murder of James Newton. A jury trial is scheduled for October 19, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in Division 9 of Jefferson Circuit Court. Brenton Stanley and Ryane Conroy are the prosecutors.
Thomas Terry – 15CR1322 (Robbery in the First Degree (2 Counts), Assault in the First Degree, Burglary in the First Degree, Wanton Endangerment in the First Degree and Intimidating a Participant in the Legal Process [all in Complicity]).
Mr. Thomas (DOB 02/15/86) and an unknown accomplice are alleged to have unlawfully entered a Shively residence in the early morning hours of July 5, 2011 and robbed the couple that lived there. The man of the house was shot during a struggle. More than a year later, DNA from blood left at the scene was linked to defendant. Jury Trial is scheduled for Monday, October 19th at 1:30 p.m. in Division 2 of Jefferson Circuit Court. Alex Gaddis is the prosecutor.
Derrick Decker – 13CR1260 (Complicity to Burglary in the First Degree, Receiving Stolen Property Over $500 and Receiving Stolen Firearm)
Mr. Decker (DOB 04/02/89) is charged with the December 31, 2013, burglary of the home of a Louisville Metro Police Department detective where he stole a firearm, among several other items. A trial is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, at 9:30 a.m. in Division 6 of the Jefferson Circuit Court. Nick Mudd and Stephany Hunter are the prosecutors.
